New Killzone gameplay - yep, looks like a PC game from 2009.

Not sure why the rocks lack any tessellation. Even Crysis 2 had a lot of tesselation for naturla rock formations. The water looks really nice. I'm sure it's prebaked animations, not dynamic physics based fluid simulations, but still, looks nice.

What game does it look like, from 2009? Out of interest. Pretty hard to tell from off-screen footage.

I've never gotten the hate Killzone gets on this forum. I've been told in the Lounge that it's because it's a Sony exclusive. Also, I remember Killzone 2 getting some GameSpot awards back in 2009, so I guess that could have built up lem hate.

From the footage, the game looks pretty decent. Some of the lighting affects look great, while the foilage and textures appearto be hit and miss at times. Anyways, it is hard to be sure how good the game looks until someone can get some better footage.

If Killzone was subpar, then why did it win Best Competitive Multiplayer game in 2009 over Modern Warfare 2?

Some of the textures are hit and miss, but the foliage is pretty darn great and the rest of the textures on the trees are pretty darn good as well. Contrary to what some seem to believe here, not all trees have a crap ton of dense leaves on them.

The trees in it look almost exactly like some near where I work, I just wish I could find the name of them.

The multiplayer was decent, but had no lasting value. Single player below average. Boring level design, terrible story. It was a chore to finish.
