I don't mind MS ad support. I hope it makes live free one day. DiviniuzSounds like a smart business move to me.
[QUOTE="Diviniuz"]I don't mind MS ad support. I hope it makes live free one day. Frostbite24Sounds like a smart business move to me. To microsoft it doesn't since they're still making profit off of it but I would sure like free xbl so my friends can play (I get it free).
Eh, kind if ad immune anyways but it would be better off with less ads.http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/169153/Microsoft_expands_network_of_TVlike_ads_on_Xbox_Live.php

I pretty much don't care about the ads when I play on my 360.It's not like they block your chances of playing a game or slow you down.

What's next? Being alright with Capcom's business practices of late?
Well they have to make money off it somehow... Oh wait, lems pay 60 bucks already  TLHBO.
Go on lembots, bend over and defend your daddy.

I own no capcom games on my 360 and I only own MHtri on my Wii.
As I've said before, until PS3 has: 1. Party chat so I can talk to friends without playing the same game 2. A multiplayer shooter anywhere near as good as Halo or Gears of War I will gladly pay for Live. Ads or no ads, I don't care.Plagueless
Lol, you are actually paying for nothing. Not a wise thing to do.

Ridiculous, like buying a shirt just for the label...
If M$ is going to increase ad's they need to make XBL free next gen.
Yep you sure do get what you pay for right Lems?
Only thing you can do with a Gold subscription that you can't do with a Silver subscription is online play and Party Chat, oh and Netflix access as well as Facebook and Twitter. But you don't pay the fee for that stuff, you just pay it to play online, which is FREE everywhere else.
It's funny (and sad) that there are people that actually defend this crap, they are the reason why MS get's away with this and they are to blame when MS raises the price of XBL (which they will do again, mark my words, we all know it's going to happen again down the road).
XBL is nothing more than a rental service, you don't fully own your games, you just own a portion of them and MS owns the rest.

+1.
  The kind of treatment you get for a 60 dollar paid service, not only does the price get increased, the amount of ads do.
sw dudes want to cry about ads on xbl then go to the topic nextdoor and post about what a great deal ps+ is in an advertisement on sw.

So your paying $60 a year just for party chat and to play a two games online?
Because that's what you just said. Just paying for party chat and two games.
How soon until there are 15 second pre roll ads when starting your game?Grawseabout 20 years ago when addias and panasonic was advertising in all the ea sports titles.

http://dealzon.com/deals/xbox-360-live-coupon#xbox-360-live-couponMeh, I'm tired of paying $59.99 for 1 year of Live Microsoft. Decrease the price to no more than $29.99 and maybe (Halo aside) will I consider getting your next console.
MercenaryMafia
the pricing history is in the bottom right. last month it was $30 so you will probably have to wait a couple of weeks until it hits $30 again.
lol@people whining about ads.

Ugh, what's so great about ads? They are awful crap that are common in our sights.

Well you might not want to watch this:
Interactive TV Ads and Ad Sharing - Microsoft Advertising - YouTube
Basically MS is going to encourage people to share ads with their freinds over XBL and upload them to Twitter and Facebook ect...and some of these ads are going to be "interactive" with Kinect. The CEO in the video goes on to say that "Teenagers are social creatures" and that "they enjoy sharing things they are exposed too"
That basically confirms the Xbox's target audience are kids. Just look at the dashboard layout, big colorful boxes with cartoon disney-like avatars.

Oh my god, that was depressing to watch. I'm sure as hell do not want friends to share ads with me otherwise I'd consider blocking them. Screw the adverts.
It's even worst when YouTube forces you to watch an advert before the video. :x

Yeah, it's not surprising to see the number of dislikes. Nobody likes advertising.

I don't mind.To be honest, I would care about them being on my dashboard. They are a waste of space. Useful things could make the space where the adverts are. Look at the XMB on PS3, no adverts at all. That's what makes it so pretty to look at, and nice features could make use of the space to please users.

To be fair, the XBL ads arn't that intrusive, the are just a pitcure that appears when you turn your system on and are in your dashbaord. But the fact remains that there is really no justification for it, especially if your paying a fee.
Like why do they have axe deodarnt ads if your paying them? IMO Gold members should be allowed to have FULL coustomizaion of their dashboards like we PS3 users do, they should be allowed do disable ads and controll what appears on their dashboard.

1. You can disable 3rd party ads 2. You CANT customize your XMB. No matter what you do to it, the layout remains the same, as with the XB dashboard. 3. You get the same kinds of ads on PSN. XBL marketplace is just built in the the OS, and not a separate program like on PSN, THAT is why ads are on the dashboard, NOT because sony is kind. I could easily consider the "whats new" tab on XMB as ads. Complaining about ads is a silly, fanboyish argument because you can turn 3rd party ads off, leaving only the gaming related ones. Please Log In to post.
