lol every time I see the sales I want to scroll down and see Xbone at double digits just because it will look so bizarre.

Shocked, I thought for certain ScreamRide would have been #1 in Japan? What the heck happened over there, they just don't seem to be real gamers these dayzzz. :P

For Xbox one must realize that sales usually don't happen until the later part of the year and momentum usually goes from how much is gained from there, this is what happened with the Xbox 360. Most of the year Japan buys games much more for other platforms. Exceptions are sometimes included, though most of the time those exceptions are usually multiplats.

For Bloodborne those are good numbers, while it's the lowest debut for a souls game in Japan, you have to realize that the PS4 is just now starting to shift gears and is speeding ahead fast. Week 2 sales will be more telling, especially since BB will be the last major AAA game in japan from Sony until after E3 most likely.

Wii U is falling down drastically but after this month it will have an advantage over the other 2 consoles by having releases while the other two will be dry. Espeically in japan, where the Wii U, thought not much, actually has exclusive TP support.

Bloodborne is literally the masterpiece of masterpieces so im not surprised.

I've noticed the TC gets a massive boner every time any PS4 title or the console itself enjoys a good sales run. As if this mattered more than the games themselves.

Anyway, the lower BB sale sales expected.

Not really. Dark Souls 1 sold 280k copies in its first week, sure 152k may seem weak in comparison but if we take into account that when Dark Souls 1 came out Japan had an install base of 7 million PS3s its not that bad since right now the PS4 has much smaller install base Japan, if Im not mistaken only 1.3 million PS4s were sold in Japan.

Pretty much this. Most mediacreate threads have some title referencing the leader, whether it a game or system (handheld or console). And look at that, Bloodborne and the PS4 are the ones leading this week, therefore mentioned in the title. Seems simple to me.

@bobrossperm: Yup. Nintendo ruled Japan in a big way during the Wii/DS years, but now it looks like the pendulum has finally swung back in Sony's favor. Even the Vita does pretty well over there, somehow, which probably will ensure it doesn't get discontinued anytime soon. It won't receive any real support from Sony, though, so it will be up to third party Japanese devs to keep it going.

The 99th percentile doesn't care, the game had moved a few hundred thousand units, it could move 3 million and still only account for less than 1% of the overall gamer demographic...
