Is the 360 even worth owning without a Gold Subscription?

So my sister is leaving for college next month and I have been helping her look at laptops. MS has that deal where if you get a Windows 7 laptop for college they will give you a free Xbox 360. Since she has no use for it whatsoever, she asked me if I wanted it.

My question is, is it even worth owning one if I have no desire at all to pay for XBL? I already have a PC and PS3, so are there any single player games that I have really missed out on since I would not pay for Live under any circumstance? It seems too late ot get into Halo since 2 of the games are last gen and I am not going to play games from that long ago. Plus I will not buy a MS console next gen so the continuation of the Halo series from a SP perspective is irrelevent to me. If not I'll just sell it.

I jsut bought Alan Wake + American Nightmare for $10 on Steam. That was a 360 exclusive that I was envious of prior to it coming to PC

What are really good SP games that aren't on PS3 and PC though that would be good? Trials Evolution looks really cool but even with that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the online features.

Keep it around for some XBLA games I suppose. Never know when something may come up that you wanna play.

No. That's why I sold it. Paying $60 for a game with half of its content locked if you don't have gold isn't cool.

Also, IMHO, sell it. You have a gaming rig and PS3, there is close to no reasons to keep the damn thing if you're not paying for LIVE, as far as XBLA titles are concerned there is easily 3-4 times more great indie games available on PC. Sell it and sell your current graphics card and upgrade that or something I don't know.

No, most xbox exclusives are multiplayer focused. Unless you want some extra polygons on screen to feel that you have superior version of multiplat, the xbox is worthless. You can still get some xbla games though, but indie PC > xbla.
