you can't compare Halo sells a lot of copies at firs day its like a blockbuster but GT is a slow burner its sells a moderate amount of games at first day but it keeps selling for a very long time anyway over all probably Halo reach will sell more than GT5.

Why do people keep saying this? Is there any proof to this?
Halo is a Burst game, first day it launches everyone will get it within the first month if not the first day. GT5 and GT in general usually will have more sales throughout its life then at the beginning of it..
GT 5. Although this a popular game and no will doubt sell alot of copies. There is a particular uncertainly that exist. Oversaturation of racing games may dilute this genre and Racing simulation games don't have the pull it once had in the past.
COD: Black Ops. This has a really good chance to beat Reach's sales considering that it's released on two consoles and PC. But people may be starting to have COD fatigue. If sales were considered just for 360. No chance. Reach would beat COD hands down.
A Kinect Game. One word. Casuals. It could lead Kinect sales into the stratosphere. But their unpredictable nature leaves some doubt.

Halo reach will probably have more midnight and first week sales, GT5 will probably have more sales than Halo after 2-3 months. Also, I'm pretty sure by the time GT5 is released most players will have abandoned Halo Reach somewhere in an out of reach shelf, so they can play black ops or medal of honor or whatever those soulless creatures that like modern FPS's play nowadays.

its doesnt matter if they relese the same day or not because gt5 will outsell haloreach no matter what. gt5 will have a huger sales than haloreach in 24 hours, gt5 will outsell haloreach in total in their life span, gt5 will outsell haloreach in npd gt5 will outsell haloreach in europe gt5 will outsell haloreach in japan gt5 will outsell haloreach worldwide imho no matter what plus gt5 graphics is better and more people will be onine for gt5 everyday than haloreach

Still, GT5 sits at 5 million copies sold while ODST sits at 5.5 million. Halo sells faster because its mindless zombies lining up on day one for sale. Gran Turismo is the kind of game that gamers enjoy, professional drivers enjoy, casual adults enjoy, and this are the kind of people who won't go at midnight to a store to buy a game. Seriously, GT4 is still used nowadays on driving shows like top gear to make comparisons and tests, and this is a fairly old game..

I think people who have an xbox will buy reach and people who own a ps3 will buy GT5. however narrow that down to people who like fps games would buy Reach and people who like racing games will buy GT5. I think they are two different games on different consoles where even if they released on the same day their sales wont hurt each other much. Even for those with a 360 and a ps3 most will buy both, either that they will stick with genre they prefer. So no I dont think it would be interesting
