It's a good racer with most content "out of the box".

PC may have more realistic sims, but not everyone is willing to bother downloading 100s of addons or is willing to spend 100s of hours just for the car settings to stand a chance in online racers.

In terms of quality, GT5 was a disaster. The most anticipated PS3 racing game game having PS2 cars, a mindbogglingly ridiculous damage model, and not being able to get something as simple as menus right=a hot mess. Polyphony Digital should be slightly embarrased.
