GT Sport delayed to 2017

PD just being PD.

I'm glad it's getting delayed. The end of the year is too crowded, and more time for them to polish the game because I think it looks a little rough. Lems were hoping it would release this year so that it will flop like Halo MCC, everyone could see the game wasn't ready yet lol.

The PS4 has no games now after Uncharted 4, so I have a feeling the cows are a bit uneasy right now. 2017 is a long ass wait to play games on the PSbore.

@Salt_The_Fries: I'm really not. I'm loving Forza 6 and all the gwg games. I don't shackle myself to love or game on just one system. And certainly not use frases by other posters and end up looking like an ass kissing fanboy.

I'm just waiting for horizon zero dawn. it's the only PS exclusive that looks interesting to me that's coming out in the next 2-3 years apparently :(

The cycle continues of announcing games to inflate their list but one by one they get delayed, downgraded, canceled, flop, then delayed again but by the time anyone notice, a new list of games starts the cycle once again. #GreatmessAwaits

GT5 sold over 10 million copies. GT6 sold 5 million which is low by GT standards but still more than any other racing games sells. You can debate the quality but the franchise still sells a ton.

Why don't they just skip it and make GT7?

Probably because they want to add VR and Neo functionality.

Looks like another holiday of PS4+COD dlc one month in advance, and Microsoft will be pushing Recore, Forza, Dead Rising, and Gears.

I really hope TLG is good though, I want there to be a handful of must own PS4 games I can get someday

Recore is being sent out to die with no advertising at all. If Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive couldn't sell I can only imagine how bad Recore will sell. Probably Wonderful 101/Tearaway levels of disaster.

Dead Rising 4 is a timed exclusive. It also releases the same day as South Park so who gives a shit about it?

Forza Horizon 3 looks amazing and Gears 4 is actually looking pretty good right now. So it looks like MS will have 2 winners over the course of 12 months. Lets not pretend they are doing any better year round just because Sony isn't pumping out a ton of games at once. Neither console has really hit their stride yet which is kinda crazy considering we are 3 years into the gen.

Knew this was coming. Having played it at E3 it was super barebones looked like an alpha of a PS3 game. There's a reason Sony didn't even mention it at E3 this year in their stage show.

Especially next to FH3 which was a best in show level game.

God, they really have nothing going for them for the second half of the year. If The Last Guardian gets delayed it appears they literally have nothing...

While I agree Sony's fall lineup looks like a disaster why do you never criticize MS for having nothing in the first half of the year? While PS4 was getting Uncharted 4, Ratchet, MLB and SFV Xbone got the mediocre Quantum Break and nothing else.

It seems like everything balances out over the course of the year but you seem to pretend only the fall counts.

this year has sucked in general. Only 3 good games out (doom, overwatch and quantum break) AT least MS has an interesting lineup starting next month with Recore (could go either way TBH) , gears 4, Forza horizon 3, and DR4. All the multiplats suck coming out now too. the only one that was going to be good was titanfall 2, but they ruined it and now it's crap so thats one off the list and south park (which is pretty niche, I'm looking forward to it but it isn't a huge game for most) Sony hasn't had anything worthwhile all year (except UC4 for people who like ND games) No gaming company has done good this year so far

At least 2017 looks promising early on. Mass Effect, Horizon zero dawn, and scalebound should all be out in the first 6 months. Realistically spoeaking between Sony, MS, and 3rd parties I expect 4-5 really good games year. MS comes the closest usually (2016 QB, Gears 4, DR4) Sony always falls way short. As of now this gen, my expectations are low. I expect 2-3 good games a year from MS, 0-1 from sony, and maybe 2-3 from all other devs combines. So 4-7 total a year if you own both.

2015 had

Dying light, Halo 5, Tomb Raider

2016 Has

Quantum Break, Overwatch with possibles of DR4 and Gears 4

basically 3 really good games a year. there have been some decent ones out there too, not saying everything else is bad

2017 has potential ones in

crackdown 3, horizon zero dawn, god of war 4 (not hopeful for this one though), scalebound, Mass Effect. Yet again at this point I only expect 3 of them to pan out.

@Wasdie: Well in one of the recent interviews, Kaz confirmed that GT Sport is really GT7. I believe it's more of a reboot of the franchise and goes from there.

They want a clear window so as not to have to be compared upon release. Let's be real here, GT hasn't matched up well with Forza anything in a long time.

Yip, Horizon 3 will be the greatest racing game on the planet once it arrives, GT better stay clear of that.

Not necessarily a bad thing, especially with Horizon 3 coming out soon which actually went gold today ironically. They need a strong showing with GT7 and if they can avoid competing with a monster like Horizon 3, even though it's more of an arcade racer, then why not.

I want GT7 to turn out great, it will keep Turn 10 on their toes even more and will inject more activity in the genre. I've been playing racers for a long time and the racing community is unlike any other gaming community out there. It's all about the cars and the racing. Good luck to them when they are ready

They clearly were trying to get it out around the time the next Forza was dropping but realized that without outsourced labour, they wouldn't make the deadline.

Polyphony hasn't made a good game since GT4 and been behind the times ever since. They really need to reevaluate their development strategy if they even want to compete anymore.

Even though I'm a big Gran Trusimo fan and I'm eager for the game, I'm going to wait until the game has been out for a few months before I buy it, just in case it goes sour. As for it being delayed, I can just play GT 5, Buy Forza 3, and save up for the other PS4 games I want to get while I wait, so it's okay for me. I am a bit disappointed though.

Good. The series is in dire need of a reboot. Forza has been trouncing it for years.

I've never once played a Forza game. Is it better than Gran Turismo 2? That one was my favorite.

Quite a bit. It's a bit less focused on being a super hardcore sim, even though GT really isn't and Forza's physics are still fantastic, and it's just a better video game. Better leaderboards, better way of customizing your car, many different kind of events, and just a better user experience.

Its not remembered because its a remake of something that was already made. When Halo CE Anniversary came out, cows said 'big deal. Its a game that was already made with a new layer of graphics'. R&C is no different. Its not a new game.

Get Forza 6, Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Horizon 3, you'll fall in love man, you've been missing out big time.

Lol who cares... if you're a racing fan, you should be playing Forza anyway.

I'm not saying whether the games are good. I'm just saying what you'll see in the advertisements. Microsoft's gonna be like "look we have this game and this game and this game" and Sony's gonna be like "Call of Duty Bundle"
