Who will come out on top?

This Holiday Season we're going to see two Juggernauts duke it out for Supremacy in the Gaming Market.

Grand Theft Auto V (available on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th 2013)

and

Pokemon X & Y (available only on 3DS October 12th 2013.)

While these games will be avalible to us before the big Holiday Rush, It's a no brainer that these games will probably be the Big Ones for The Holiday Season and with these two games about to come out, I say to you System Wars...

Which Game will be the the Top Seller by the End of 2013?

GTA V will sell more for sure.

pokemon will sell 10million on 1 platform

However, CoD will sell the most this year, but less than both GTA and Pokemon in its lifetime.

Oh its a sales thread thought i'd be about whos going to play what.

anyways none of them will come on top in terms of sales as Call of Duty:Ghosts is already being set to be the biggest title of 2013

I don't think any Pokemon game has outsold GTAIV, so I'm going with GTAV on this one.

Have they? The most recent numbers I could find had them shy of 24M while GTAIV is at 25M now.

I think those are the numbers if you're including Yellow and Crystal.

If X and Y were on the DS, this would probrably up for debate. But since it's on handheld that is still kinda newish, GTA will pretty overcome it in sales.

GTA V by a long shot.

GTA will win over its lifetime.  I looked up stats and GTA4 is more popular than any COD game ever which probably makes it the biggest core game series.   Pokemon sales according to VG charts have been going down since Diamond/Pearl and are around 14 million.  

For this holiday season? GTA5.

However, the gap should probably close during lifetime.

Street Cleaning Simulator beats both of them, hands down.

This holiday season it will probably be GTA V given how many more people own a PS3 and/or an Xbox 360 than a 3DS. In the long run, it's a toss up. Both series tend to sell near 20 million copies in their life time
