DS2 Will Have GameCube Power

so what do you all think Yay or Nay ?

Website RPAD dig up information on Nintendo's handheld successors at the Game Developers Conference, they spoke with several third-party developers, and according to their findings the DS2 look a lot like current Nintendo handheld, only with better screens and better performance.

• The system has two screens, just like the DS, but they are bigger and higher resolution. I'm sure most of you could have guessed that, but the interesting part is that the gap between the two screens is negligible. Developers will be able to use them as one giant screen.
• The next Nintendo handheld has an accelerometer.
• The dev kit is similar in power to the GameCube. Developers that worked on GameCube or Wii games will find it easy to create with. I found this information unusual. The DS successor is rumored to use an Nvidia Tegra chip, while the GameCube and Wii have PowerPC CPUs and ATI GPUs. The people familiar with the dev kit made it sound like there wasn't much of a learning curve on the new system.
• The developers I spoke with will be finished with their games before the end of the year. The Nintendo DS is still going strong and the company could delay the next handheld's release if it wanted to, but it looks like an E3 2010 announcement and a late 2010 release.

It will probably be the best Handheld ever.

I saw a similiar post saying the ds2 would have the power of the ps3.. which seemed rather exciting but for it to have the power of the gamecube.. its a bit meh imo.

If it indeed does have power that rivals that of the GC, dual analogs (for games that need them), two touch screens, and a library rivaling that of the DS or PS2, I might be done with console gaming forever. :P

GCN performance would actually be pretty decent for a handheld device. It's virtually impossible to make a "portable PS3" with current technology.

Amazing library? Either Nintendo and 3rd parties who make games for Nintendo just hate non casuals or non sheep players or ive gone mad and Nintendogs and Pokemon are the best games out

well it only makes sense seeing as how the ds is almost an n64 that the ds 2 will be almost a gamecube

Just what do you think "mature" means? Something that contains profuse amounts of blood and profanity? Well that may be true as far as the rating system is concerned, but it's certainly not the real meaning.

And really, if any of those games could be considered rehashes, then you might as well call all the GTA and GOW sequels/spinoffs "rehashes" too.

well ds2 is not going to get released any time soon ,, but it will definatelly be gc graphics or wii , ,

because nintendos handhelds are a gen behind their home console all the time , ,

example ,

gc was after n64 technically

gba was in between n64 and snes ,

ds is n64 wii has a tad above gc ,

gbc is 8bit color snes 16 bit gb 8 bit mono chrome-this is the only handheld to measure the same bits as a nintendo home console , in the same time frame as it

psp is a ps2 graphically ,

ps3 is double ps2

so it would make sense , im not sure about sony though where are they going , if its impossible for ps3 visuals im welling to bet psp2 will see the same graphics as psp , and be competitive with ds2 which wouldnt be good for sony sense people wouldnt see psp 2 as a upgraded psp at all , but ds2 would be to dsi

im betting on gc graphics my self , if not xbox with the same battery power as current dses ,

The psp is not ps2 graphics. it is below that but better than ps1.

The DS2 is supposedly using the nivdia tegra 2 chip.

There is a video on youtube of the tegra 2 running the unreal 3 engine.

So the DS2 will be able to play games that can run on the unreal 3 engine.

The graphics looked better than the gamecube but not as good as current gen consoles.

Also the PSP2 will be using one of the newest graphics chips being developed for phones like the next iphone gen.

It will supposedly be very close to current gen standards but still not as good.

It will be a little bit better than the DS2 in the area.

Although graphics aren't everything. I enjoy my DS much more than my PSP because the games seem more entertaining to me.

Make a Phoenix Wright 4 with Edgeworth-style gameplay, only with Persona 4-like graphics (ie, 3D characters & environments with detailed 2D portraits for dialog). That would kick so much ass.

i know everybody anticipates something new but nintendo is not going to reveal anything, they keep secrets better then my baby cousin(and she cant talk by the way).they are going to use the ds for all its worth just like the ps2 is being used thats just smart business nintendo is making killings in every area of gaming they want this to last....
