@goldenelementxl: Review in progress mind you. Score is still subject to change and 8/10 isn't a bad score. Same score as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and that's still review in progress.

I've never seen a score change though for a review in progress. Has it ever happened?

Still, 90/100 on metacritic (for PC version, the only version that matters tbh) is great.

8 is a great score. The problem is, somebody on this board promised a GOTY/GOTG type of performance from this game. Now it's likely to not be the highest scoring game of the month.

@R4gn4r0k: For as long as I been here, I haven't seen that happen. Sometimes, GS reviewers want to make sure they get as much data as possible before passing the final score.

@davillain-: Always just take it as a media gimmick to get it out the door as soon as possible for clicks and nothing more, in general, it's complete bullshit.

Those two cons are two things I've been worried about with the game for a long time. Not good..

"Chainsaw gives you this, flamethrower gives you that". Meh. And who gives a shit about the story in a DOOM game? It should be kept as simple as possible.

All good games get 8 here.

I didn't like 2016 Doom, it would always change res and do other weird crap when booting the game on PC. Not touching this if it is too serious and cumbersome inventory system, no thanks.

why do i care about GS score which is also great 8/10 and same score i was expecting from them based on Doom 2016.

best games ever always got 8 here. most of 9 and 10 here are overrated like wolfenstein 2 and bioshock infinite.
