Does modded Oblivion look better than console skyrim?

It's worth noting my friends, to make it fair, Oblivion is running 720p with no AA. Only FXAA.

My friend, cherry picking "the best" rather than "the average" would be cheating.

It's a dated game, kinda like Golden Eye it's never as good as you remember and even gos as far as sucking. Unlike real classics like Planescape Torment or Mario 3 which are always good.

Modded Oblivion can look fantastic, so why couldn't it?

I think unmodded pc Oblivion probably looks better than console Skyrim as long as you turn the res and effects up. Man, this just makes me wish it was on PS4 so I could play both of them again.

Just because you are like 13 doesn't mean everyone is little baby back then...

coming from a time when consoles never had a hope of playing a pc title all i can say is when i have a pc that will run a game i get it for that and when it can't run it it is hands down amazing that i can actually get what would traditionally be a pc only title for my consoles.

spin this any way you want but the truth is being able to play pc games on console was impossible just a few years ago and i am glad for it even if it is a shytty version.

as far as the topic goes it is obvious that a modded oblivion looks better than anything on the ps3 and 360 just like my buddys modded skyrim on his 2 year old pc looks better than anything on ps4 and x1.

I disagree, I think Oblivion is a really bad game. Broken classes and character builds, bad story, bad dialogue, and a ruined lore/setting because consoles at the time couldn't handle that it was supposed to be a Mediterranean theme

you mustve missed my screenshots in this thread. I also forgot that most gamers these days started with Oblivion/Fallout 3 and forgot there were other more original titles that preceded them

to be subjective it'd make sense to shot for shot match the modded PC shots with the Xbox 360 and PS3 shots... nonetheless a powerful PC with mods will probably win, no need to go to such shallow rhetoric lengths not shot for shot matching

Yup, and indeed the lore states that (paraphrased, I'm not looking it up) "even the bridges were overwrought with houses and shops".

The IC in Oblivion seriously feels like some small corner attraction at Disneyworld, only with far less people. I was not impressed.
