Does mass effect 2 have multiplayer?

Maybe they aren't lazy. Perhaps the design of the game just didn't allow for MP to be done right.
Good for Demon's Souls, it got GOTY 2009, so it's nice to be loved by the fans.

Adding MP also could have delayed the game.

I don't think lack of MP means lazy, if a dev can't do it right, I say stay away. Stay Far away! Devs should do what they are good at.

Bioshock was fine without MP, and there are plenty of games that have MP that folks don't use.

Sure, if ME2 had MP, It could be cool...but oh well. Not much we can do. A good game is still a good game.

Multiplayer doesn't belong in an RPGParasomniac

It could be done with multiplayer but it's not something that is required. Co-op can hinder story telling and the flow of the game. Which is one of the better parts of Mass Effect.

Bottom line is, Bioware can make the game they want, not every game has to have multiplayer. ME2 is not made for you (TC). Play a Mass Effect game the day it has multiplayer, untill then, miss out on the fun SP.

I haven't played ME2, but ME is an RPG first, TPS second. MEs TPS elements also rely on the squad customization & tactical elements that come with being able to command your squad members, bring up the dials that change weapons & cast biotics, tech skills etc. The weapon dials wouldn't work in multiplayer obviously, & if you replace your squad members with human players, you lose a lot of the ME combat feel. For the multiplayer to work, it would have to be stripped to a Gears clone, which it couldn't compete against, as Gears is a dedicated shooter, & has combat suited to multiplayer (much more fluid, faster paced, better 'feel' shooter wise).

With that said, ME2 is supposed to be improved combat wise, though I highly doubt it will be on par with Gears. Even if it is, the multiplayer still wouldn't feel like ME after the squad members & weapon/skill dials are gone. I love multiplayer, but Mass Effect is one series it just isn't meant for, but still remains an amazing game. What it lacks in replayability through multiplayer, it makes up for in replayability in single player.

yes, it did flop according to SW rules. however, many felt the game was tremendous (myself included) and are looking forward to the 2nd installment. apparently, you enjoy playing review scores more than games, though.
