Only if im uncertain about the series/title. For example, i wouldn't have bothered downloading Journey if it wasn't for its high praise because i hate indie crap.
Rarely, as I don't buy new games too often and wait for price drops almost all the time.
I'm only asking for one game for Christmas though and I'll have mannnyyyy options, so reading reviews will help narrow down my choice. I'm definitely looking to see if Halo 5 or Fallout 4 has broken online/ is unplayable due to glitches as was kinda the case with the most recent entries in those franchises. Reviews will tell me that.
@indzman: I rely on my friends, following my favorite developers, and reviewers I trust to determine if I buy a game...but I would NEVER rely on a single site or review.
I dislike metacritic, but I absolutely HATE THE IDEA of a single review from IGN or Gamespot.com dictating my purchases. That has and will never happen.
No... Gaming journalists can't be trusted to even try and be objective and they're generally greased up by AAA publishers. half of the industry is a part of Gamejournopros ffs.
