Honestly, getting Reedus for this was asking for people to jump to TWD universe. Oh ya, that's there is darryl. Nah, man. Reedus' best role is in the Boondock Saints.

Possibly good news, the game is not confirmed as cancelled, Del Toro is simply leaving the project.

Looks like Konami pulled a Capcom.. Nice going.

I agree that they should ditch Reedus and just go with the 1st person angle the entire game.

Probably wasn't up to standard of SIlent Hill: Book Of Memories and Silent Hill: Mobile 3.

Also sad for Del Toro, second time he's trying to get into videogames and gets the boot.

I didint know who norman reedus was so it wouldint matter to me. On topic its sad this isint happening especially after P.T demo was such a huge hit.

There are still pockets of Kojima fanboys out there that believe all of this is just an epic ruse to generate buzz for both Silent Hills and MGSV. Kojima may be a top tier troll and I'd love to eat crow on this one, but it's hard not to just laugh at these "theories". Even Kojimas bullshit has its limits.

Yeah, this sucks though. Hopefully all of this mess will lead to the start of something even better. Kojimas been wanting to develop new IPs for a long time now. Sucks that Silent Hills has to be a casualty on that path, but we might just end up with something much more awesome in the long run.

Look on the plus side... at least we don't have to see that Walking Dead douche bag with his greasy emo hair in the game.

The ghost was used as a decoy mechanism in one of the stage demos, but that was about it.

That said, it is MGS and they do pack some random shit in the games. Peace Walker had a bunch of optional Monster Hunter missions, so a Ghostbuster mission wouldn't be a stretch in MGSV.

Agent was technically an IP that never existed with nothing to compare it to(although probably a GTA clone wouldn't be that far of a reach). Silent Hill is a known quantity and before Silent Hills, a dead IP. This resurrection was exciting for fans of the franchise.

I disagree. There really is no indication to me that it's exciting other than the names involved and even then Del Toro has never released a game (he isn't even that good of a filmmaker either) and Kojima's area of expertise aren't horror games. Everything about this game just seemed like hopes and dreams and a lot of wishful thinking from fans of a dead franchise. It's also kind of weird to compare this to the past games when they've said it would have been nothing like the previous ones.

Konami will be gone in the next 5-10 years without kojima.

At least Silent Hills got a demo.......Legends never die.

Sony is KING...........of delay. KING of cancellation. It is a shame in this case. This game had promise but it turns out it was probably so more PS4 would be bought due to the amount of hype PT created.

Konami is pretty much irrelevant from a games standpoint - this and no Kojima sinks them even below Capcom and Sega status as far Japanese developers racing towards complete irrelevance in the west.

Pretty sad, I thought this gen Japan developers would turn it around (especially with PS4 being lead platform, and supposedly being cheaper/easier to develop for). It seems like this year the downward spiral has accelerated, and I didn't think that was possible.

They could, but I think the blowback they got from Bayonetta 2 says it is highly unlikely.

Moreover, I don't think they would want Silent Hill to interfere with Fatal Frame's sales.
