After Metal Gear Solid V, **** Konami.

It breaks my heart too. This had the potential to be the best horror game of all time.
Hopefully a new publisher picks up Kojima so he can work on a new horror IP. Sony would be perfect. Kojima, Toyama, and Del Toro working together on a new horror game would be something else.
That's kind of weird, seemed pretty big when it was announced. I certainly was excited, would love to see a SH game this gen.
???? Really. Couldn't they just hire another kid to continue the work? It is not like he owns the IP.
there is no point in continuing this project without Kojima and KojiPro. It would be just another shit Silent Hill game like the many we have gotten before.
I saw this coming since the Kojima leaving konami news. Kinda sad, was really looking forward to it since i liked so much the older silent hills.
I am actually glad that happened , To be honest bringing Norman Reedus was bad idea , he is great actor but as a video game character , you are always going to think of another character he played in one of his movies/tv shows like The Walking Dead , and most of all (don't get me wrong but) Silent Hill doesn't need a famous actor to be successful , AFAIK its already has the fan base that will give them at least a profitable release.
I am sure Silent Hill fans won't like this but the best one i've played was The Room , man the hole in the wall and the chains on the door were enough to let you feel the atmosphere .
Am I the only one thinking Konami is just prepairing to shut down? Think about it, Kojima left the company, PT is getting pulled from PSN, and Silent Hills is canceled. Why would all of these unfortunate events be happening if Konami wasnt prepairing for something bad? Considering Silent Hill has been in a downward spyral for years, Metal Gear Solid was practically the only thing holding Konami together until Silent Hills came along. Kojima leaving the company was a huge blow to Konami. Without MGS, the only thing Konami has left is literally Silent Hill. As much as it pains me to say this, Silent Hills could still be made without Kojima. Unless Konami just wanted to dismiss Del Toro and make Silent Hill by themselves again, this looks like the final nail in the coffin for Konami.
Now that the speculations are out of the way, SCREW YOU KONAMI! YOU HAD A GOOD THING AND YOU BLEW IT. I WILL BUY MGSV ONLY TO SUPPORT KOJIMA. KONAMI IS DEAD TO ME!
Was really looking forward to a new Silent Hill, not been a decent Silent Hill since Silent Hill 3, but still the PT demo looked like it could have been really good.
I'm sad when any horror game doesn't make it, there arnt enough good horror games out there.
Best case scenario is they leave the vidja game industry and sell their IPs off. They're only going to run Metal Gear into the ground and that's the only thing of worth they have left.
That's ZoE3 and a next gen Silent Hills Konami has successfully crushed, probably my least favourite publisher now. Roll on their bankruptcy.
Shame...was sort of looking forward to the game. P.T. was a good demo, but it became boring doing the same stuff over and over trying to get to the end. Still it had potential.
OK this really sucks. Seemed like it was going to be best Silent Hill game in ages. But who cares about survival horror.
i honestly want to cry.
Welcome to the Silent Hills no longer exists support group
Konami can go **** themselves.
I never thought I'd see the day they'd be worst than Capcom, but holy shit, low and behold.
Here's hoping Kojima continues work and opens his own studio similar to what Platinum games did, having a visionary like Kojima just fade away would be one of the saddest losses in gaming. Hell maybe he can even convince Igarashi to come along with him and make a proper Castlevania for a change.
Why can't Kojima just take his team and work with Del Toro on a game with a different title that uses the same concept?
@princeofshapeir: Kojima could totally do that. Isnt that exactly what the old RE director done with The Evil Within? In fact, since this is the last MGS game Kojima will make, its very likely this is his next project. As far as a publisher goes, Kojima has previous ties with Sony, plus Sony would give him complete freedom to do whatever he wants. Whatever happens, I have a good feeling we will be seeing Kojima at E3 with more than just information on MGSV.
So they're pulling a Capcom. I wouldn't be surprise if they phase out Metal Gear Solid as well after MGSV comes out this summer. Konami, much like Sega, makes a killing from Arcade and Pachinko machines, so developing video games isn't necessary a must for their viable.

I'm predicting that Kojima will probably turn to crowdfunding like Inafune did.

After? How about not supporting them from now on?

Not an option because it's MGSV ;)

It's still Kojima's Baby so money spent on it would go to supporting Kojima I'd imagine.
No reason to care about Konami anymore.
Konami has been in the dumps for years now it seems with the only real IP doing well is MGS.. After they butchered the Castlevania franchise (the last great Castlevania games were the three released on the DS), I really stopped caring about that developer what so ever.. They turned the best metrovania franchise starting with Symphony of the night (DS having amazing titles like Portrait of Rune, Ecclesia, dawn of sorrow), into a generic action beat em up game filled within a market of already too many..
Like, 90% of the shit Del Toro gets involved with either gets cancelled or he leaves the project. This doesn't surprise me and I don't particularly care because P.T. wasn't that cool.
People sure jump for a game we had no evidence of quality yet that wasn't even off the ground yet.
Yeah, basically. It's like people getting upset over Agent being cancelled despite knowing 0 about it.

What? Maybe you were unable to separate Reedus' past work from video game voice work, but I know I have no trouble doing that. Its why they are called "actors". Because they play many different types of characters.
