Dead Rising 4 get's a 7/10 from Gamespot!

Dead Rising 4 GS review

Just like Dead Rising 3, Gamespot gave that game a 7 and I'll admit that I haven't seen that much footage or anyone talking about DR4. I did enjoy DR3, but this one looks more the same and will wait a price drop on PC. Anyone picking this game up day one?

I'm just playing through 3 for the first time and really enjoying it much better than 2.

Doesn't seem like anyone even knows that this is coming out this very soon. Very sad how MS has treated this and other, smaller games like ReCore.

I think they don't even try anymore. But everything on the xbone is multiplat anyways so that's a plus since you don't really have to get a xbone for 1 or 2 good exclusives during its whole lifetime.

Dead Rising 3 scored a 7 on here and I ended up really enjoying that game :D

I know lems were hyping this before but they've been to busy worrying about and damage controlling all PS4 games that they don't even talk about the few they have anymore, so whats the verdict on this one?

DR3 scored a 7 and I loved it. Looks like I'll love DR4 as well. Another great release for MS. It's been a great few months, FH3, Gears 4. MS releases games while Sony releases trailers.

If it's anything like the previous two instalments then it's a generous score. The combat just feels like shit in the games, Silent Hill levels of bad scripted attacks but with not redeeming qualities.

My opinion of it anyway.

Probably better and more reliable than any resident lem opinion on this board. I played a bit of DR and it was passable to forgettable at best for me. I couldn't even begin to entertain the thought of actually paying money to play something like that...but then again I also hate GTA and it's senseless mayhem-esk gameplay and soap opera narrative.

I love that people be in here all the time and I'm having websites often but don't know when a game that has been advertised is coming out lol.

Perfectly fine with me, same score as the previous game which ended up one of my favorites this gen.....IGN gave 8.2 which is similar to last game as well. Stoked for tonight can't wait

Dead Rising has always felt so repetitive to me. Yeah, killing zombies is fun, but not in DR for some reason. Not sure why, but I find the series mundane.

Its some low scores on metacritic, wonder whats wrong. 7's still good, its got plenty of them. Looks like time limit and lack of diversifying itself from the others is main concerns. So if you dont mind those, should be fun zombie killing machine.

LeMS hate games. They have been busy trolling the games announced at PSX.

Probably going to be undeserving of that 7 just like Dead Rising 3. I think I'll just replay 1 and 2 until Capcom actually does a new ip.

Unlike some, I actually knew this game was coming out and have been following it time in time. I just enjoy playing zombie games and I was always a fan of the Dead Rising series...

I'm going to read through Gamespot's review now, but read a few others and it seems some issues are technical and online not working at times. A patch or two can fix this up, I might wait a bit before buying to see if it gets fixed, I'm doing the same with Final Fantasy XV...

Phfft, Metacritic has been unreliable for a decade or more since just like GS they've conducted nothing more than a MS/Xbox Smear Campaign using unreliable sites to help lower the aggregate score of Xbox games. I mean c'mon, any fool can see right through it.

Yeah, but i think it cost $30 for 2 years still. I use it a lot so was worth it for me. Guess would have to figure how much your gonna use it to see if its worth it.

Been looking forward to this game, looks fun and it's good to play a mindless over the top game from time to time.

Funny how lems always claimed GOW was a brainless button masher but they love this one. At least in GOW you need to press more than one button and the enemies are not placeholders. TLHBO.

Because they are not placed in a manner than make it fun,after the first one seeing this one doesn't do anything for me is more of the same,zombies barely move and the AI appear to suck,from what i see in DF frame test.

I think 7 is generous when newer series trying something new on both platforms get slam for the smallest things.

Got mine pre ordered for a while. There are Dead Rising groups on Live that have been chatting about the game. I'm a member of a group of 1000 gamers that are looking forward to it. As for the score of the game, its GS. DR doesn't exactly try to pull the heart strings and lord knows GS reviewers love the drama.

Looks mostly nighttime and mostly in the mall. I liked the outdoor, so-cal feel of DR3. Wish they had stayed in that direction and maybe taken the story a little more serious. THis feels like a Saints Row knock off.

I do enjoy playing Zombie games but I pretty much prefer Dead Island/Dying Light over Dead Rising games series for the most parts but DR3 was enjoyable but not enough to get me buying Dead Rising 4 just yet though.

I also think 7 score is fine as well, I didn't even relies DR4 was coming out this week so this review caught me by surprise.

Yea, Im still hyped to play and it looks cool but I loved Dead Rising 3 co-op with my buddy. Im gonna hold off for now because I have too much to play. Will probably get my brother to buy it for me for my birthday in a few weeks

I loved Dead Rising 3, hell I loved them all (except for Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, still have yet to play that one). Buying Dead Rising 4 for sure, only uncertainty I have is whether I have the self control not to buy it later tonight, as I'm still juggling Gears 4, Battlefield 1, and Titanfall 2. Plus the game is likely to see some sale in the coming weeks as Microsoft is likely to have another Countdown sale going on from before Christmas to New Year's Day lasting at least a couple weeks. I imagine Dead Rising 4 could be discounted somewhere around $15-20, plus I have about $22 in Bing Rewards & XBL Rewards coming, I could get it for as little $18 if I simply wait. Maybe use the savings to get something else.

I'm eyeing XCOM 2 since that'll likely go on sale again too, hopefully at a better discount than the Black Friday'ish digital sale they had. And I'm happy to hear the console ports have been patched to deal with such things as the long load times and some of the graphical performance issues. Or maybe I'll pick up some of those collections I've passed on. Would love to revisit the Bioshock games, and especially the Dead Rising games. Hopefully with Dead Rising 4 releasing tomorrow that this week's Deals With Gold sticks to the theme, either offers the Dead Rising Triple Pack at a substantial discount, or maybe even a Capcom publisher sale, as I'd also like to get the latest RE4 iteration cheap.
