Let the annualization begin!

Its pretty simple. If a games meets expectations, we'll see another one. There will be no great master peices and have good sales where we wont see another game,
There are some cult classics like Psychonauts, but I dont think that sold that well? Anyways, I knew this was coming.,
Souls of Duty
Souls Creed.
Madden Souls '17
Guitar Hero's Souls
Souls of Duty
Souls Creed.
Madden Souls '17
Guitar Hero's Souls
BattleSouls
Early 2016 is way to soon. Late 2016 maybe, but this quick, with SotFS and BB, i don't know if the quality will be kept.
Careful From, i love Souls, but please.
No PC. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
:'(
huh?. It's ps4, xb1 and pc in teh article
Souls of Duty
Souls Creed.
Madden Souls '17
NO NO NO NO
DON'T DO THIS GUYS
Technically the last new souls game was 2014, so not an annualised franchise... Just saying
BB might aswell be called Blood Souls anyway, so yeah, it's annualized at this point.
On the one hand: holy crap a super niche hardcore series gets another sequel.
BUT....lets not ruin a good thing here, folks.
I'm torn and I have yet to play part 2 or finish part 1.
@deadline-zero0: Bloodborne is different enough though. I mean Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six are pretty similar, but you don't call them the same franchise...
Regardless though I'm pretty psyked so long as it's not rushed.
Oh cmon. The animations, lack of focus on story and characters, the interconnected level design, the UI.
Even the combat isn't that different. Faster paced, but it's clearly not DMC, GOW or Bayonetta all of a sudden. It's Souls with a sidestep instead of a roll and faster attacks.
Hell, people literally called it Beast Souls at first.
I hope these games do become annualized so everyone realizes how shit they are.
What did it take... 5 games for assassin's creed? Then a bit of love for black flag and now it's pure shit.
Quick turnaround as the DS3 game is set to "launch time frame of Early 2016", which means it's incredibly unlikely that Hidetaka Miyazaki (of Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne fame) directed or even had anything to do with Dark Souls 3 as he just recently finished 2015's Bloodborne and he takes 2-3 years per project as a director. Last I read he still has DLC for Bloodborne coming along.
This is clearly From Software capitalizing on the popularity of these games just like Dark Souls 2 was and this was most likely the 2014's Dark Souls 2 team's work which gives them that 2 year window to finish this Dark Souls 3 game sans Miyazaki and crew. It's painfully obvious this game has already been in development for quite some time, since Dark Souls 2 in 2014.
For those that haven't put this together, From Software and Sony clearly have separate teams working on separate games.
I know it seems obvious Miyazaki isn't behind this DS3 game, but I only say this because some in SW were thinking Miyazaki actually was behind this Dark Souls 3 project in another thread a few days ago, which honestly didn't make sense then either.
EDIT: My post is the same, but I fixed a typo as I had mistakenly typed Namco for some reason although I have posted about From Software's IP ownership 100x in SW over the years. It was just a strange tired post.

Yep, I also feel that Bloodborne is different enough to set it apart from the Souls games, and that's why they did it.
I played the hell out of the Souls games and don't feel the least bit tired of the formula yet. For me, if Miyazaki is not the designer behind DSIII, I'm OK with that, because I still think DSII was amazing.
@SolidTy: 'This is clearly Namco capitalizing on the popularity of these games just like Dark Souls 2 was and this was most likely the 2014's Dark Souls 2 team's work which gives them that 2 year window to finish this Dark Souls 3 game sans Miyazaki and crew. '
Honestly, I highly doubt this. Bandai Namco has nothing to do with Souls outside of a publishing deal for North American and European territories. They do not own the IP. They cannot have any say over when and how frequently From works on Dark Souls. The reason this exists is not because Namco wanted to capitalize on the success of the franchise and fast tracked a sequel, but because From wanted to make a third game in the series. As they are the creators of the franchise, in this case there isn't as much of a case of corporate greed prompting unnecessary development as there would be in case of a developer/publisher disconnect.
(Apologies for no quote, btw. It's late, and I'm browsing/posting from my phone.)
2016: Dark Souls 3
2017: Bloodborne 2
2018: Dark Souls 4
2019: Bloodborne 3
........
and all with shitty graphics.
@charizard1605: You don't have to fret, I meant From Software, but I uncharacteristically typed Namco even though I knew it was From's IP. It was just a typo brain spazz, but my post was about Hidetaka Miyazaki most likely not being involved as previously suggested by people here and From capitalizing on this series.
Just to clear it up: Here's one link of many from 5 years ago of me talking about From Software's IPs and I have had 100x of From Software IPs convos, I just typed Namco because I had Pac Man on the brain. I blame drugs and Namco's involvement with the publishing Demon's Souls in EU and Dark Souls 1/2 for the West.

My point is the same, I just typed Capcom when I mean Konami, lol.
That's a joke. Capcom, Konami, and Namco don't own the IP.

BB was exclusive so not annualized for lemz/hermits
I'm sure it'll be great, I really enjoyed Dark Souls 1 and 2. Unless I have nothing to play though, there's no way I'm paying $60 for this. I still need to give Souls 2 a 2nd playthrough. I'll probably wait a few years and pick this up for $20 or less.
