@XxR3m1xInHDn3D: I haven't played a Halo since Reach, what did they do so wrong or differently that people hated it?

Well Reach was hated by a vast majority of Halo fans too so that was pretty much the beginning of the end but it still felt like a Halo game and had some competitive ranking mode unlike Halo 4.

I think one of the biggest reasons people hated 4 was because 343 said ever since around 2010 or 2011 that they were gonna listen to the Halo fans on their forum more and they even updated Halo Reach and fixed some of the main problems everyone had with it. The main things people were complaining about for years ended up ruining Halo 4

When Halo 4 came out they reimplemented those same things that they fixed or tried to in Reach but made it even worse and completely stripped the game of everything that made Halo competitive by adding things like join in progress, going overboard with loadouts and not having 1 - 50 ranking or even the Arena from Reach. They eventually added a CSR system to make it more competitive but they made it so you could only view your CSR ranking (1 - 50) on Halowaypoint.com so it was pretty much pointless.

The Theater mode had less features than the Halo 3 theater and the spartan ops was just plain boring compared to firefight. There's plenty of other things wrong with Halo 4 but they were the mains ones I think

This is a pretty big win for Sony. Grow your 1st party while hurting the comptetions. Naughty Dog is growing to be very powerful and looks like the place all of the top programmers want to work.

I would say Rockstar is better, Valve is about the same.

I'd say Valve is better... And pretty much every Nintendo dev, Insomniac, Sucker-Punch, Media Molecule, Santa Monica, Ubisoft Montpillier, From Soft, Rocksteady, Platinum games, Treasure, and the list goes on and on :)

Having said that, I've heard Naughty Dog is a very nice place to work so good for her! They have integrity, I'll give them that much.

Every nintendo dev? I hope you're just trolling. There are like dozens of studios under Nintendo EAD, most of which dev crap mario shovelware. If you can point to me a studio under nintendo ead which are as consistent as nd then fine. No doubt there are excellent games that come out of nintendo 1st party but no one studio under them is responsible for all their excellent games yet one studio (nd) is responsible for bout a dozen AAA games.

Insomniac has failed in doing anything other than Ratchet.

Sucker Punch needs some more time and budget. Second Son has the potential to blow away all ND platformers ('cause inFamous is pretty much an open world platformer with tps). But not atm.

Media Molecule also has the potential. Not enough games to say they are better than ND.

Ubi Mont. only has Rayman and BG&E 1.

Santa Monica has what? GOW and a couple games they've helped out in? Nope.

Rocksteady better than ND? They've done 2 games. Really? Reaaaallyyyy?

Platinum has 3 good games. Bayonetta, W101 and Vanquish. ND>Platinum.

Treasure better than ND? /dead

Clearly a hater. Sorry but the creators of Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Uncharted and The Last of Us are only second to Valve and R*. And those guys have waaayyy bigger dev teams + money.

I know some people are scoffing this off a no big deal but Corrine Yu is an extremely talented developer. She's responsible for both Borderlands and Halo 4's graphics engine. Adding her to Naughty Dog's already impressive visual team is pretty awesome.

Note that Borderlands is based on Unreal Engine 3.

I'm not blindly hating, I just have a strong opinion on game design and feel that what Naughty Dog has put forth in the past generation has been very poor. They are talented, but I feel like that talent is greatly misplaced. It's just how I am. They were better before Uncharted. After that point they stopped using the medium they work in effectively.

Borderlands wasn't impressive graphically. Halo 4 definitely was. Still, I doubt this has little, if any effect on the next Halo graphically.

Funny. I hear how bad 343 did with Halo 4 here a lot. Now one leaves for ND, and Halo 4 looked great, she was the reason. LOL fvckin shyt is getting so trivial here.

So when Naughty Dog lost Richard Lemarchand it ruined the company right? I know you're naive but guess what, developers switch studios all the time and life moves on. One person usually won't make or break a game studio.

Within the industry, there are few people we know by name due to their talents in their respective field.

Corinne Yu is one of those people.

Her work was what directly lead to Halo 4's graphical prowess on 7 year old tech. She is incredible at creating powerful and competent graphical engines in closed-box systems. She was a HUGE deal at 343i, and her work is one of the most consistently praised on the team that pumped out Halo 4.

Honestly, those are big, BIG shoes to fill. I have friends over at ND, maybe I can meet her in the local get togethers. Either way, this just means a studio already capable at producing some fine looking games just got an incredibly talented graphics engine programmer who is working on what is easily one of the most efficient and optimized pieces of tech on the market. She is going to pump out MAGIC on that hardware in a few years.

Funny. I hear how bad 343 did with Halo 4 here a lot. Now one leaves for ND, and Halo 4 looked great, she was the reason. LOL fvckin shyt is getting so trivial here.

Halo 4 did many things wrong but graphics was not one of them. She was responsible for the graphics.

One person? Did you read/watch the credits after finishing Halo 4? There were hundreds in them, but this one person, was responsible for the look of the game? I'm calling bullshyt.

@kratosyoloswag: Here's the credits to Halo 4, fella. Look at the bottom of the post. Graphics engineering. The lead engineer is Thomas J Holmes, Yu was not responsible for the graphics in the game. She was a member of a team, although not this brainchild cows are making her out to be. congratulations to Ms Yu, and fail to cows.

The internet is blowing up because of this. This must be a huge win for Sony.

So, can we say Halo 5 will flop now?

If it has hype. Sure. I used to be such a halo fan. Halo 2 was my peak though in multiplayer.. it just all slows changed from there. 3 was good. Reach was.. different.. just please stop.. 4 was.. COD had a baby with Halo. Spawn in - insta spawn - load outs - uggghhh
