Call of Duty:Ghosts - Xbox One IS The Best Version!

Call of Duty: Ghosts review update: Xbox One

While the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts has been confirmed by Activision to run at a lower resolution than its PS4 counterpart (720p upscaled to 1080p native, respectively), that numerical difference is less meaningful than you might imagine.

The two versions look nearly identical. Viewing the Xbox One release next to the PS4 , I had difficulty telling them apart. It's possible that the PS4 version looked somewhat sharper, but that may have just been my imagination after confirming the hard resolution difference. The next-gen releases of Call of Duty: Ghosts are so close together that gun to my head, I'd have no confidence in being able to discern which version was which — at least, while the two are standing still.

The Xbox One release's framerate was far more noticeable. As mentioned in the initial review, Call of Duty: Ghosts suffers from consistent framerate drops on the PS4, especially during multiplayer when action got especially hectic. The Xbox One version suffered no such drops, maintaining a steady 60 frames per second throughout.

For a multiplayer shooter, framerate consistency is paramount. Given its relative visual parity with the PS4 release, Call of Duty: Ghosts is a more playable, slightly superior (albeit disappointing) game on Xbox One.

Can't tell apart from PS4 and Xbox One versions. But PS4 version suffers frame drops while the Xbox One version runs as smooth as a baby cows bottom. Add to this, guaranteed dedicated servers not being thrown into peer-to-peer from time to time as in PS4, this is the best version by far.

lol bro the Xbone version of Cod has MASSIVE frame rate issues, don't take my word for it just google it, it's in tons of reviews and articles.

I hope the reviewer is telling the truth about their being no framerate drops for the xbox one version of this game.

thats sad if true, but im gonna wait for another review source. Im not a fan of Polygon after that whole Sim City fiasco. But yeah, that does suck a lot if true :(

We've already seen gifs of framerate drops for the X1 version.

Controversy is great marketing

Dedicated servers are a huge selling point for games like CoD so regardless of whether it has the same FPS problems that the PS4 is suffering from The One will be the better version.

No reviewer actually played the xbox one version of the game until today. Even if their are framerate drops it's probably minor drops in the framerate. The framerate drop rumour came from an internet source and one youtube video. Youtube can mess up the framerate of a video sometimes.

because it's one of the best selling/most popular game series in history, and which ever next gen console has the better version could affect sales

So basically the difference is so minute that you have to actively look for things to tell them apart.

So the PS4 wins. If I had to choose luckily I don't because I don't want either.

well except if the graphics look the same, but one has framerate drops then that would be a pretty big difference

Tranformers made a killing at the box office, I don't see people arguing over what blueray player is best for it. Why? Because the movie sucks, a turd taken on it's own merits. Very strange you guys argue about what blueray player is best when the movie is a turd.

Hmm, IGN's updated review is out. Very much seems a trade off - slight frame drops in single player but sharper visuals (ign said "character models, weapons, and environments look noticeably sharper and more detailed.") on PS4 version compared to X1. No mention at all about frame drops in multiplayer.

Haha, wasn't it just yesterday and the past month that Cows have been going crazy over 1080p and now it's nbd when 1080p didn't matter haha

Different quilitys. Different HDTV quilitys. Diffrent audio quilitys. At the end of the day sonny, Transformers is a sucky movie no matter how much we debate the in and outs. Likewise with Calls Of Dutys. You fact you fellows bricker out this crap for such a cynically bad game makes me wonder if you, as people.... have any artistic merit.

Well it's running at 720 so it's a given it would have less fps drops.

All I'm saying is that Polygon has zero credibility, regardless of scores they give. Do you remember that they gave SimCity 5 a 9.5 while nobody was able to connect for months?

Its a long established criticism of Polygon, lem.

The fact that evidence for it forces you into complete denial mode says plenty.

really doubt it but DF's comparison is coming soon anyway. We just have to wait for M$ to stop being a pusie and let the media speak their mind because they only does it when it is to report an XB1 advantage or good news.

But one is on a system that costs 100 bucks cheaper. I can deal with some framerate drops.

IGN said the difference in graphics and framerate, while there, still let them score the game the same on both consoles. Shrugs.

Interesting how polygon rated the ps4 and xbone version of the battlefield 4 the same despite the ps4 looking better and having better framerate.

My dear fellow, as with 99% of games, it's pc. A done and done deal that need not be debated.

they are debating between the two console versions, since not everyone plays on PC

one is in 720p the other in 1080p. no difference whatsoever!!!!
