You do know that MS owned Bungie at one point, and they allowed them to go indy?
You realize that if MS was evil as so many cows claimed, they couldve simply kept them (and Destiny) exclusive?
You realize that Bungie and MS still have a great working relationship?
Not everything in the real world is like System Wars.
Everyone besides cows always knew that Bungie were great devs.

You are very ill informed
Which part?
The only reason Microsoft "allowed" Bungie to branch out is because they wanted to KEEP a good working relationship and because Microsoft didn't give a SHIT about Bungie and they OWNED the rights to Halo already. I seriously doubt Microsoft thought that Bungie would have the balls to go off on their own and just abandon the Halo property... Meaning? They THOUGHT they had their thumb over Bungie and forced them to stay in their pocket anyways. However, just like with Rare.. you can only keep your foot on dev's throats for so long. Bungie has been able to make it's own decisions as an "independent" dev team and company since 2007... however, they only had a partnership with Microsoft though Halo... Bungie gave up their rights to the fanchise and began work on Destiny; a multiplat title that Bungie is undoubtedly hoping will sell as well or better than Halo did. With Destiny slated to be released multi-plat, I would say this is highly feasible.
Microsoft had absolutely NO SAY whether Bungie decided to go multiplat with Destiny.
Microsoft owns rights to the Halo franchise... Bungie wanted to go multiplat and Microsoft did not have ANY power with Bungie OUTSIDE of Halo. THIS is why Bungie broke from being tied solely to MS and why MS retained rights of Halo. It is all about the money...
here is a link from 2007 to help tie it together
