Not sure how much investment was put into Bioshock: infinite but in the 6 days from March 26th to March 31st the game was able to sell 878k across 3 platforms ( assuming the PC was counted ).

hopefully this is good for the company since the game was great

Really glad it did. Ken was very worried the game wouldn't sell or get enough exposure and I'm really glad it did.

I would say inb4 trolls say it's terrible but it already happened

if it's NPD data then it doesnt include any digital downloads, which was probably a majority of PC sales since DD had the best pre-order deals

lostrib

From what i understand it dosent even include amazon sales, wallmart sales, ( other game retailers ) and completely dosent include Canada.

That is less than Tomb Raider in the same time frame and it is guaranteed that Bioshock Infinite cost more with all those delays and massive marketing budget.

Tomb Raider still queen of 2013.

Didn't this game cost more than GTA4 to make?..  $200 million I believe.   They spent about $100 million on marketing alone.  LOL.

878k = $52 million, still hasn't made up the cash yet.  Not by a long shot.

Tomb Raider sold 1 million in like 3/4 days.

Indeed, the game and Irrational totally deserve it though.

is it... good? I mean, dont get me wrong, at first sight they seem like respactable numbers but having in mind that nowadays any AAA game that doesnt sell in the 6 million range is a commercial failure for the developers I dont know if this is good or bad... :|

This was over 5 days, and doesn't include DD, Amazon, and a number of other retailers. Put simply, these are really good numbers.

i was going to say "that's not very much", then i read that it was in 6 days alone. they probably got much better numbers once you account april sales.

Hopefully its good but yeah its very hard to know if its good for the company itself, i mean look at SE they sold 3.4Million of Tomb Raider and they said it didnt do well which means the investment on the game was too big.

but again you got to know that NPD is only U.S and most likely only GameStop as they dont count amazon sales, wallmart or even Canada which is a whole market on its own not to mention the rest of the world so i think it did well besides its still selling so if they didnt get their money back, they most likely will very soon.

Did the game really need all that licensed music? Prob cost a small fortune alone.
