Are you surprised 1080P 60 fps?

So, the Halo 5 MP beta got a bunch of flack from, well, you know who you are, for running 720P and many claimed the finished game would be 720 to 900P. Are you surprised that Halo 5 is 1080P 60 fps plus 24 player MP in levels 4X larger than any previous Halo game? Warzone looks nuts man with all the surface & air player controlled vehicles. :D

Same for FM6, 1080P 60 fps with 24 cars on track MP and looking beautiful to boot.

Many of you know I'm a huge fan of these two IPs but I was pretty surprised by this.

Is the X1 looking better to you?

Did DX12 have anything to do with this ya think?

I am glad to hear that it is 60fps.. I honestly couldn't care less if the game is rendered at upscaled 720p or 900p instead of 1080p.. If you guys were that stuck up on graphics you would have went to pc years ago for that very reason..

Oh I agree, 60 fps is the biggie and 900P would have been fine & dandy by me but I was truly surprised hearing 1080P plus 24 player MP plus 4X larger level than previous Halos and for me, that's just more than I could have hoped for on the X1.

That last part yup, this game can't stutter in Warzone, 434, make sure of that please.

1080p/60fps looks like junk to me.

I'm glad MS is getting on the bandwagon from 10 years ago.

Up next to get on the bandwagon as you say, Sony's Racer and FPS ya know, they've yet to have one 1080P 60 fps but The One will have both in a few short months, stay salty.

The 1080p 60 fps is overrated, Rather have a good game at 900p and 30 fps than a bad game.

Having said that, i rather have a game at 900p and 30 fps than a game at 1080p and 25fps.

I also like backwards compatibility , new controllers and holograms.

Alright. I'll stay salty. Really though...1080p looks so blurry to me now. And 60fps? It's a good baseline, but I've been enjoying games at 60fps+ for a long, long time now.

I'm just saying...I wish "new" consoles didn't have crap hardware. Here's hoping next gen will be enough for 4k at least. Maybe a few years out (360/ps3 was SUCH an abnormally long gen, I'm hoping new consoles come out in 2-3 years. I'm sure it won't happen...but it should!)

i'm surprised, but if i had to make a compromise, i'd reduce the resolution for better FPS. forza 6 though is going to be one hell of a game.

Eh, okay, fair enough, pegged you as mooing hehe. Anybody that knows me well knows I was very disappointed in the new consoles and canceled my X1 day one and didn't buy X1 until this past Black Friday where I got the X1: MCC bundle for just $300.00. It's precisely why I made this thread because I was shocked that both these game are 1080P 60 fps which kinda sounded impossible just a few months ago.

1080p @ 60fps is an amazing feat. Congrats to Microsoft for making it happen. Its a great goal to have and will be an awesome marketing technique come Holidays.

And that's another thing that really impressed me. Halo 5 being 1080p 60fps looking that good. Like really impressive. I just wish they shown more of the game. That demo gameplay wasn't satisfying enough for me.

The problem here is that it's 2015, where we have hardware that can push 4k resolutions and yet we have consoles that struggle to hit 1080p 60fps.. Halo 5 looked good and smooth so that's awesome, but this shouldn't even be a topic of discussion.. We should be well past this just based on the hardware that's available out there..

Would have preferred 900p for both and the extra power put into other graphics bits in the game. The obsession with 1080p on PS4 and Xbox One is just wrong. You cant tell the difference any ways.

it looks like Halo 4, it better be 1080p. 343 sure isn't even trying to push the graphics anymore cuz they know X1 doesn't have da power

XB1 is the console of choice for 1080P/60fps :P

A little. Kind of explains why it doesn't look much better than Halo 4 (not saying it looks the same but it's not a leap either)

It has good alpha effects though, like always.

It's the right decision anyway, all fps should be 60fps sans something really slow like the new doom.

Just talking graphics here, not the overall game.

Any game can be 1080p 60FPS on xbox one,it just depend on the image quality and effects is carry.

It has nothing to do with DX12.

I think the fact that they controlled the characters in a very stiff and "cinematic" way was detrimental to the 60fps game design (basically they played it as if it was another 30fps cinematic affair). I think Halo 5 will look jaw-droppingly good in motion, maybe not godly in the way the biggest graphical showcases are, but its 60fps is going to make a helluva difference.

I'm not hammering the game or anything. If it plays well and looks good in motion, perfect. Just pointing out that these games (both consoles) are obviously going to make sacrifices to hit 1080/60

After you have the chance to play Halo 5, all the other Halo games are going to feel really, really outdated. Moreso than Halo 1 felt after playing Halo 3.

@nyadc: With this kind of visuals... amazing achievement. I bet you can't even see any differences between halo 4 and 5. One gen apart but it looks the same. Is 343 lazy? Or is the Bone's limit already reached? Nvm i forgot that DX12 was supposed to save the day. Halo 5 looks mediocre, that's why you have your 1080p so enjoy your last gen looking title in 1080p!

Dude it's more important that it's 60fps. You console gamers are so lame to want 30fps games just so they can look better. Then you guys turn around with 'games are all that matters' verses the PC. Why isn't it 'gameplay is all that matters'?

Ideally most games should sacrifice graphics for frame rate.

Xbox One has been more impressive than the PS4 to me. 1080p and 60 fps is just bonus. I don't know how people can play with 30 fps anymore.

I hope it's a solid 60fps, but I won't hold my breath until I play the finished product. Confidence has been shaken due to the MCC fiasco.
