Only World of Warcraft has been dumbed down so much. managing to attract a different audience entirely. The game is so different from 5 years ago. The same douchebags that used to bully me in middle school for playing are now getting into it. Probably because of how easy it is and how hip it's become to be into those kiind of games...

Those games and things referenced in that porno have been "mainstream" since their conception...please, everyone knows what a high score is, everyone knows what the princess in another castle thing is, and plus, I dont consider mario to be a flagship of gaming, it's more like the tip of the iceberg...

What do annoys me is how people consider themselves true gamers, and you ask them what are their favorite games and they answer "mario, call of duty and guitar hero!"

Ok really, playing those games wont make you a gamer, I would say that not even a casual gamer.

Then there's the people who say "im such a gamer dude! i've played every single mario game released!" I ask them if they play something else and they say "uhm zelda, I love zelda too, played a lot of them, ocarina of time oh man masterpiece!".

I ask them "do you like ganondorf as a villain?" and they ask "GANONDORF? WHO IS GANONDORF?"

So they failed to recognize basic elements of a game with a basic plot..nope, you guys aint gamers.

Not at all. I remember at my old job in 1997, there was just one other guy who was into gaming. These days, there's a whole bunch of people at work into gaming. It's kind of nice that there's more people to chat to about it at work sometimes.

On top of that, more people gaming means more money for developers to keep making amazing games.

I resent the fact that I helped it become mainstream.

I should have just stopped enjoying video games, and done something else, but nooooooo I had to buy more and more.

Only some games have gone "mainstream". By Mainstream I liken it to "socially acceptable". Those socially acceptable games tend to be sports games and games which involve mindless shooting and are very very well known even outside gaming circles.

Casualisation, Political correctness and agendas taking priority over gameplay, nickel and diming with DLC, stupid fanbases and the whole LOL LE MEME LE VIDEOGAMES I'M SUCH A NERD XD culture.

I don't just despise the fact that gaming and the internet went mainstream, it feels me with SO MUCH RAGE that I can barely hold myself from breaking my monitor.

If anything I wish it was more mainstream. This hobby is so much fun and has gotten me through a lot of tough times in my life, being able to escape to a different world for any number of hours full of fun, memorable moments and pure entertainment above all.

If more people get to enjoy somethin I love to do, I'm all for it.
