Another Halo game coming from a third party developer

With Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, you’d think there’s enough Halo in the pipeline (who am I kidding? there’s never enough Halo), but apparently that’s not the case, as revealed by a new career opportunity ad published by Microsoft for 343 Industries.

The ad seeks a Publishing Senior Producer that will take care of a “new project line” within theHalo universe, meaning that we might actually see more than one game coming from this. It also mentions working with a development partner and and internal and external teams, indicating that the project is probably going to be executed in collaboration with one or more external developers, even if we don’t know if they’ll be first or third party studios.

Of course the producer will be tasked with ensuring that “the game hits the quality expected of a title within the Halo Franchise,” but there’s no precise indication of the scope of the project. Considering that the ad is talking about a new project line, it’s probably something rather relevant, but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement in order to know more.

With nothing good for Xbone owners, Microsoft is going to spam Halo, Gears and Forza all gen long.

Xbone? More like Xbox 361 - It's only a hair stronger than the 360 and still has the same exclusives as last gen. I feel sorry for the Xbone owners.

I can't say I ever liked Halo a lot. Forge is a ton of fun, building maps and stuff and dinking around, but as far as the actual gameplay goes, I've always found the gunplay severely lacking. Basically, it's a lot of fun if you're not actually competing against someone and you just want to mess around.

Oh please be an ODST sequel that makes the player character(s) not as powerful as a SPARTAN II and stars Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk.

Bungie's old Halo 1-3 is still going to be selling a few Xbones in the new Halo Xbone collection coming this Xmas.

This "more Halo games" news doesn't surprise me after playing through the incredibly bland and unremarkable newest entry in the Halo franchise, the digital arcade entry Halo Spartan Assault (53/100 metascore) made by 343 and Vanguard Games.

After 343s disappointing albeit not bad Halo 4, nothing really shocks me. Slapping Halo on products is looking to be a new trend.

Not really. There was no release in 2008, and unless your counting the phone game for $6 there was not one in 2013 either.

So where is 2008 then? You said since 2007 it became a yearly iteration series. But there is a year since 2007 there was no game. Therefore the first post of yours I quoted is as I said, not really. Unless 2008, the entire piece of space time just doesn't exist.

Why wouldn't they? We the gaming consumers have said its ok, We'll buy Madden, NBA, the Show, NHL, COD with little changes every year. And now the EXACT same game after one year. I would sell these "gamers" anything I could, at this point.
