Have them both but i hope they release them separately so i can get just metro2033 since it seems there is a large number of impovements
lol for even trying to compare the two.
The disparity between them just aggravates the situation against ND.

Aw shit, now I really gotta upgrade.
The problem with this trailer is that it's simply comparing the graphics of the PS360 versions to the Redux PC version (100% guaranteed that is not the PS4/Xbone version being shown off with global illumination), to make the difference look more significant. The graphical improvements are really just tiny to the PC version, but I'm sure teh consolites will appreciate the difference.
I definitely want to play metro 2033 redux though, now that will definitely be worth a look.
Still haven't played the original
You monster! Play it now!
But it looks so dark and depressing...
Yep that's the point. :P

Are they still in poor conditions since the IP got purchased by Deep Silver?

I don't think that changed anything. But I'm sure that if THQ had not gone out of business, they would have tried to rush 4A and release a broken game, Deep Silver gave them some good time.
I loved these games, I think it's pretty cool they're remastering both these games. When I get an X1/PS4 I'm definitely picking these both up for sure. The first game is definitely going to benefit the most. Fixing the hit detection is a start. The weapon customization is going to be great. Hopefully they do something about air filters, they don't so much seem randomized but seem to only be around if you need them. I hope they can offer better subtitle support as it's fun to play in the languages available. And of course, the graphics improvement is going to be cool. I especially like the changes to the ends of chapters to make them flow smoothly, the changes to the environment and adding extra exploration.
Own The Last Of Us + season pass (70 euro) -> have to pay another 50 euro to be allowed to enjoy it in a higher resolution
Own Metro 2033 -> Pay 10 euro to enjoy the game with better graphics, more polished gameplay, new engine, etc...
Yeah, I know what remaster has my interest...
lulz, its funny how all these companies are coming out with better rereleases than TLOU. I guess ND is just like the rest of Sony. Why improve something great when you can halfass it.
Who cares if they didn't add unneccacary throw away graphics effects? They added the essentials. 1080p 60fps, and better textures etc. They wanted to stay as true to the original game as possible. I assume you respect that much.
I dont respect laziness

Yeah, I don't understand why people think it's ok to pay that much money for a remaster.
Deep Silver put down the base price of both redux version to 20 I believe, that is without owning the originals. With the originals in your library you get 50% off (10 euros). Meanwhile TLOU is still fucking 50??? Despicable.
AT LEAST do the fucking 50% off for those qho already had the game, or trade it in Gamestop for the remastered version or something. This is your fault, console gamers, for letting this stuff go by unnoticed...
Well.... Apparently, porting TLOU was a nightmare due to highly specific ps3 optimization.
It's two different kinds of beasts, IMO.

What makes it even less acceptable is that Sony alread did the right thing last gen.
With the PS2 remasters you could get several games for 30-40 euro. And now suddenly it's one game for 50 ?
See, I love TLOU. And I'm sure many do and want to play it again on there new system in the 1080p's. However, you gotta realise what kind of message this sends. It's saying to Sony that you're ok with a worse deal than you got last gen.
Still haven't played the original
Apparently, you can buy each game individually for 25.
BTW, are they offering trade-ins if you own the originals?
I played the original Metro, at the time it raped my PC and I thought it was going to be like stalker, but it wasn't. Maybe it got better after the first couple of hours but I got bored of it.
Looks like a decent remake though (it's not a remaster if they have change the gameplay and added things).

It's half price for those who have the originals (on steam).

That's awesome of them.
"Improved AI"
It'll still be the same stealth for dummies it always was. The redux stuff on one should make 2033 more fun to play mechanically, but it'll suffer from the same thing Last Light did. Yes you made it more fun, and that's better than the jank fest 2033 was. But it's not the survival, tense, scavenging for ammo/filters game they are trying to pimp the game out as. It leaves the rest of the game as this corridor shooter (A tight one mind you) with decent stealth sections, great visual direction and atmosphere, but one where the level design is a mixture of obvious combat arenas and sight seeing tours whenever you are in an area with other people. On the flip side at least the surface levels are awesome, and Ranger mode won't be bullshit DLC for Last Light. Ranger Mode is the awesome way to play Metro.
I will own both,,, and great trailer BTW. Its been great being a PS4 owner, cant say the same for my xbone lol
Now thats a nice remaster, although the pc version should be cheaper imo.
If you own the originals, you can get both Redux's for $25 total. But personally I'll wait for steam sale for 75% off instead of 50%.
So the remastered matches the graphics of the original game on a high end PC from back then? Uhm I hope they are making the PC version loads cheaper... Because tweaks to AI wouldn't constitute 50$ for the PC version atleast.
There are alot more changes tespecially for Metro 2033 including some new areas and missions plus they are using Metro LL graphics engine
Also they dropped the price to 20 for each game and if you own either of the games then they only cost 10 ( compare that to other remasters )
