[QUOTE="sherman-tank1"]

[QUOTE="Yusuke420"] Stafford has the opprotunity to be that, winning is a team thing. QB's get all the spot light but no one is going to say they wouldn't want Cam or MAtt on their teams unless they have a super QB like Brady or Manning. Are you going to say Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco are vastly superior to these two just because their teams happen to be winning? Carolina has blown 6 fourth quarter leads this season. That's not on Cam, it's no that swiss cheese defense that plays not to lose instead of to win in the fourth and ends up getting beat.

Yusuke420

Matt Ryan and Flacco aren't elite though. Brees is stil elite for an example, even though his team is 5-7. Rodgers is still elite, as is Big Ben. Let me name 10 QBs I would take before Cam. Brady, Eli, Peyton, Ryan, Big Ben, RG3, Dalton, Brees, Stafford, and Cutler.

Ryan, Dalton(who lose RoY to Cam), Jay Cutler(have you seen the bears play recently?), and Stafford before Cam? What is you basis for these guys. Everyone else has either won a title or is RGIII, those other guys aren't better then Cam though.

Ryan is pretty good otherwise his team wouldn't be 11-2. He doesn't have much of a run game at all. Dalton, unlike Cam, has improved greatly from his rookie year to his sophomore. He is going to be a very good QB in a few seasons. Cutler isn't great but he plays pretty damn well with a trash o-line and trash recievers outside of Brandon Marshall. Have you seen the Bears record without him the last few seasons? Stafford isn't really good but neither is Cam. Right now I would take Stafford. However, if Cam continues to put numbers like that he did last week I will have no problem putting him over Cutler and Stafford.

:lol: at Scam being better than Ryan. At least he's made it to the playoffs. Dude's good player, but he's gotta play alot more before you can say he better than some those QB's. Sayin he better than those dudes based off 2 seasons is too funny.

[QUOTE="Put_in_Kitna"]

[QUOTE="sherman-tank1"]Yeah I am in a way using that against Manning. Not his fault but it is something you have to take account of when it comes to MVP. Anyways, the point is that the dropoff from with to without AP in the Vikings is greater than with to without Manning in the Broncos. MVP doesn't always have to come from a division winner.

sherman-tank1

Says who dude? What are you basing this off? Opinion? Because AP has been with the Vikings for 6 years and they made the playoffs once. Guess who was their qb tht year? Yeah Favre who had an MVP caliber season. Seems to me like the Vikings don't improve much record wise with or without AP. They don't make the playoffs with him or without him so what does it matter. How valuable is he you say? You mean they can go from a 6-8 win team to a winless team? Doubt it.

You do have a very good point, but I do believe that the Vikings would be winless.

And I could say the same thing about Luck, which is why I believe he deserves MVP consideration.

Oh I highly doubt that, at least with an adaquete backup. They still have one of the best defenses in the league, along with a Pro Bowl running back and wide receiver. If you're just talking about started games though, 2 games against the Texans and 49ers isn't really an ample sample size to be the judge that issue.

I wasn't making an unprovable statement. I was stating a fact. The Bears have won a grand total of 1 game without Cutler since he has been there. This includes when he went down late last year (Bears were 7-3 before the injury, 1-5 without him only win coming against an AP less Vikings team. [won 17-13]). This goes to 1-9 in games in which he did not finish because of injury 1-7 is an ample sample size, although not ideal. This is the reason why I don't value the 'where they would be without him' argument. It depends too much on the makeup of the team. If your entire offense is based around one player, for example Peyton Manning, obviously when he goes down you will feel it worse than someone like Brady. That shouldn't mean that Brady doesn't deserve the MVP over Manning, simply because his team would do worse without him.

Have to go with Brady. Where would that team be if they had a different QB not in the top 5?

MVP- I would pick Peyton, maybe Brady if he continues what he did during the Texans game

ROTY- Hands down I would pick RG3

I can't help myself, if Manning is a reasonable candidate my bias kicks in and I have to pull for him. To be honest, all 3 of them (Brady/Manning/AP) have legitimate arguments, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I want to still say Tom Brady, especially with what he almost just did with the 49ers, but hey...that's almost. I still say he's been better than Peyton this year, but if the Vikings win out and make the playoffs. It's AP no one else need apply. I was expecting Tom to win here.

If Adrian Peterson can somehow break Dickerson's 2105 rushing yards, I don't know how you can't give him the MVP. That record has stood for almost 30 years.

If he breaks the record it's a no-brainer. If they make the playoffs, eh I still like Peyton. If Brady would've pulled off that sh*t last night then it would've been hard to not give it to him, other than AP breaking the rushing record.

Yup. I'd probably stick with Manning unless AP break that record. Can't stand Brady, glad they didn't pull that out last night.

Did Chris Johnson win it when he ran for 2000? How about Jamal Lewis? Lewis' team actually went to the playoffs when he had 2K and he still didn't win it. Why? Because QB's are more important in the NFL than RBs, even more so today. When's the last time a great RB won the SB? Now, when's the last time a team won the SB with a scrub at QB?

Did Chris Johnson win it when he ran for 2000? How about Jamal Lewis? Lewis' team actually went to the playoffs when he had 2K and he still didn't win it. Why? Because QB's are more important in the NFL than RBs, even more so today. When's the last time a great RB won the SB? Now, when's the last time a team won the SB with a scrub at QB? Bobbles

Bucs, Ravens. A while.

I dont care about that. Only thing I care about and what this damn award should be for is the player who is playing the best football. Thats it.

If it is based on actual most valuable, might as well not bother bringing any other position into the discussion...ever.
