Myself, I'm very curious to hear about the 34 (is it?) charges of felonies regardless of how low those are claimed to be.

^^ was listening Judge Napolitano

Rofl.

I mean it's just a conversation with both a famous judge and defense attorney discussing the indictment. Has some good insights. Way more insightful than anything on MSNBC and CNN with their crackhead content.

I prefer the long discussion format.

All you need to know is evidence was presented to the Grand Jury which is every day Americans and they found indictments to have merit. FYI, if you repeat the same illegal action, it is also a different count. That law would be applied to and every person in the country and trump is not above the law. We should always want the law to be upheld. Wanting less than that is unconscionable.

Here's my prediction:

This just emboldened Trump. He's going to wipe the floor with the GOP (not that anyone but DeSantis even had a chance, and DeSantis is a charisma vacuum).

Biden will not run again, leaving the door open for who for the dems? Trump could run through any of them. The only one Trump can't beat is Biden.

This is nothing. This is a nothing charge, with nothing consequences, going nowhere. This will go down as one of the worst political decisions made by the democrats.

And it's one paragraph listed 34 times and doesn't even mention what the crime even is! Lmao

I'm laughing, I like listening to Judge Napolitano. He's been telling people to not criticize the indictment untill it's released. Giving them the benefit of the doubt that they might have something serious.

Now he's reading one paragraph 34 times and flabbergasted lmao!!

Seriously worth listening to this conversation.

No it's not. Not a single one of your youtubes has ever been.

Be mad at Trump for always skating on the edge of the law now for decades, and nothing else. He got himself into all of this.

Lost the EC as well last time. He hasn't done anything to make people who voted against him in 2020 to change their vote but has lost more support.

They took an interesting angle with this one.

So Trump isn't being charged for paying hush money to cover up the various sex stories.

Instead, they're charging Trump for *covering up* those payments. He is accused of falsifying his business records to make the hush money payments look legit. Basically, he paid off people through fake companies to hide that it happened.

If I'm reading things correctly, it looks like his lawyer has admitted this happened, and they have cheques signed by Trump himself reimbursing his lawyer for the payments. That's quite the smoking gun.

So for all of Trump's bluster, this seems like a really cut-and-dry case with clear evidence supporting it.

@girlusocrazy: I agree with you.

the 60% poll you mentioned by CNN.

I find it interesting that 76% of all polled believe the reason Trump is being charged is political. That means a lot of independents and some dems agree this is happening because of politics. Not just the justice system seeking "justice".

https://nypost.com/2023/04/03/poll-76-say-trump-indictment-political-but-60-approve/

Democrats were mostly unified in their support for the indictment — with 94% approving and 6% disapproving.

Among Republicans, on the other hand, 79% disapprove of the Trump charges while just 21% approve.

@girlusocrazy: conflicts of interest, NY DA ran on going after Trump, Bragg who's a dem also has family ties with Kamala Harris. To have a state DA reopen a federal case that the federal government didn't care about previously. I think there are many other good reason to suspect this case is politically motivated.

@sargentd: If it happened in Manhattan and was illegal then the Manhattan DA can certainly prosecute it. He's being charged with business fraud and therefore the standing is correct.

I do not think the offences have been read yet mate. It should make for a colourful day.

This is at the centre of everyone's focus, but we need to be patient.

Enough! Enough of the political theatre. Speaking of theatre, time to go see John Wick.

Bolded it for you.

The electoral college is anti-democratic, by making some votes more equal than others. Worse yet, based on where you live, you can effectively be counted as having voted for the person you voted against. Simply due to geography.

That is not democratic. That is the complete opposite. And while I am at it, I also like to argue that this is bad no matter who gets into power. Whether that is Trudeau, Dubya or Trump.

It is and I wish Congress had the balls to change it. The time is over when we allowed on white wealthy landowning men to vote. Onward to Progress though we have to drag some (GOP) kicking and screaming along.

When was it closed?

It appears the other stuff doesn't seem to matter, the DA didn't bring the indictment, the grand jury did. If anything handing it off to an independent body separates it from Bragg. The grand jury could have decided to drop it or do nothing. It was based on their opinion whether to seek testimony and from who, judge the credibility of evidence and testimony, it was up to them to indict or not, and it will be up to the courts to decide. I'm not sure what part Bragg has in this apart from convening the grand jury to offer that separation.

Anyway Bragg isn't the judge here, he's not in the jury either. It's out of his hands, and Trump is still innocent until proven guilty.

Bragg didn't decide to indict, and Bragg won't have any influence on the outcome.

MAGAs don't want facts. They want to be the victim. It's amazing how they fall for lie after lie from trump and send him donations. A self professed billionaire. Easy marks.

In an ironic twist of events as Trump was being indicted in NY the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Stormy owes Trump an additional $120,000 for incurred legal over a law suit she filed against Trump. That now brings the total to $600,000.

The legal facts Bragg did not have the authority to pursue the indictment on several statutes in the law. He can not indict on federal charges, the statue of limitations ran out on both the state charges and federal charges.

Easy marks.

The legal facts Bragg did not have the authority to pursue the indictment on several statutes in the law. He can not indict on federal charges, the statue of limitations ran out on both the state charges and federal charges.

One other item the reson for the indictment according to Bragg was to cover up another crime. The glaring question is what crime as it was not mentioned in the indictment. The prosecution by law must tell the defendant what cirme he is being charged.

Democracies and republics are not mutually exclusive.

Ideally republics still adhere to democratic values.

so what

the popular vote doesn't determine presidential elections

Bolded it for you.

The electoral college is anti-democratic, by making some votes more equal than others. Worse yet, based on where you live, you can effectively be counted as having voted for the person you voted against. Simply due to geography.

That is not democratic. That is the complete opposite. And while I am at it, I also like to argue that this is bad no matter who gets into power. Whether that is Trudeau, Dubya or Trump.

Just out of curiosity:

If you consider it anti-democratic, would you then argue it’s not representative? As far as my understanding of how the EC works (and the rationale for its existence) is that some states get more say to be held to equal representation within the Union, irrespective of their population.

False. The business fraud occurred there.
