Who or What made you get a Playstation 3?

The main reason was Metal Gear Solid. Other exclusives such as Uncharted and Infamous made me glad that I bought it.

1st of all i had a ps1, ps2 and psp, so i will stick with ps3

i had no more that many good games on the ps2 and the wii was a waste of money

so I decided to save up and buy the ps3, so far im loving it

I've always been a Playstation fan, so it wasn't really a question of which system to get first. I generally pick up all the systems eventually (I also had Dreamcast, N64, Xbox, Gamecube, etc), but the Playstation consoles were always my priority. Mostly due to exclusives like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Ratchet and Clank, and so on.

But really, I guess the main reason why I picked up PS3 is because of MGS4. I found out later that FFXIII would also be on the Xbox360, but I assume it will just be a port, so the PS3 version will likely be better. And Final Fantasy XIII Versus is PS3 exclusive as far as I know.

Uncharted : drake 's Fortune . the graphics were and still are : Oh my god !!!!! No matter what fanboys say . I had a 360 before (still have it now, but it doesn't have HDMI, and the difference is Oh my god too) .

I needed the newest system and the ps3 was the newest thing out at the time

Well I could of gotten a PS3 for launch, but I decided to wait. Until one day Mr. Kojima came by and announced that MGS4 was right around the corner, when MGS4 came out the first night, I got myself a PS3 with it. Excellent time to pick one up.

Blue Ray, MGS 4, Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3 and free online are the reasons why I bought a PS3.

I would say the following pushed me toward a ps3 purchase.

a number of sony exclusive franchises e.g. Gran Turismo, God of War, Rachet N Clank.

Not to mention I own PS1, PS2 and PSP and enjoy games the platform has to offer. If those conditions weren't met I would be gaming on different hardware.

It all comes down to games I enjoy. ;)

mgs4 & blu-ray I guess

I friend recently bought one so i went to buy one my self.

well I looked at what games were available for each system and the PS3 had MGS4 , Uncharted, and at the time FF13 exclusivity.

so I got it because I thought it had better games (andI wasnt disappointed one bit)

I wasn't always a playstation fan, I don't really know why. I've had a 360 since it came out and it got the RROD once but the fix has been fine for a good year. A couple of my friends have a PS3 and I just love the controller, the system is soooooo quiet, it feels like an expensive piece of equipment, the games don't scratch as easy or at all, the free online is great, blu-ray and you just get soooo much for the same price of a 360. I still have both systems but I play my PS3 a lot more now. I really don't miss anything from my 360 and just feel like it is going to break on me from all the crunch noise it makes while it plays the disc. The PS3 exclusives lok so much better than the 360 exclusives. Also just a fun little fact for you, i work at a video game store and we have sold 10 PS3s for every 1 360. This is at most of our stores.

I liked the exclusives like Killzone 2, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, MGS4 and of course the upcoming Heavy Rain. Also, it had Blu-Ray, built in Wi-Fi and HDD.

MGS4, GT5, and FFXIII.

Blu-ray, free online, and the fact most of my friends had one or were planning on getting it also helped make my decision.

I had the PS1, PS2 back in the days (still have them in working conditions). When to the xbox, I regretted :(. Got back to the PS3 and been happy ever since :D.

Had a 360 and loved it. I was interested in MLB '09 the Show and Little Big Planet. I guy at work told me he would sell me his PS3 80gig (less then 6 months old), $60 giftcard to Gamespot, Killzone 2, MGS IV and Socom w/ headset for $350. I decided it was worth it and bought it. I think PS360 is an AWESOME combo.

went threw so many xbox360's and i was sick of paying for online gaming so i got the ps3

and i love it i use it for almost everything

They were discontinuing backwards compatible units, so I picked up a MGS4 bundle before they disappeared completely. I had originally wanted to wait until the price dropped a bit more, but a chance to get a PS3 and not clutter more space around my TV (not to mention leech more inputs) was well worth it. My other original PS3 criteria was to wait until they admitted their folly of removing rumble, but they also solved that with the MGS4 bundle and the Dual Shock 3 by that point. Unfortunately, the console also came bundled with PAIN.DJ_Lae

Well, I Was An Xbox 360 Owner For 3 Years And PS3 Looked Interesting, With The Exclusives And All, And Yeah, I Sold The Xbox And Got A PS3.
