Who or What made you get a Playstation 3?

01.) Volatility of Microsoft's Xbox 360. I've had 3 unique Xbox 360's, all fail. Among those 3, I sent them all to get fixed and each of them failed at least once, some three times after the original failure. Not very reliable to say the least.

02.) The PS3 price drop and release of the Slimline PS3 with the 120GB HDD priced at $299.99 was much more reasonable than the original and insulting $599.99.

My friend brought his over with Resistance: Fall of man and the following week I got mine.

Some lunatic broke into my house and held me at gunpoint and forced me to tell my mom i want a PS3 for my birthday! The horrror!

I just decided it was time to pick one up. Plus with the backwards compatibility being killed off, I would have regretted it later on. Plus I already had a 360 and Wii but they were both collecting dust so I just thought the addition of a PS3 would brighten up my gaming. I still have my MGS4 80GB edition.

got a 360 for 2 years, and it broke so I got a ps3.

Playstation 2 + Uncharted 2

I actually got mine the day GTA 4 came out, but I had to get GTA 4 the next day because they were all sold out.

A little thing called Gran Turismo...which has yet to make an appearance.

I only owned sony products before the wii, and the expensive price tag scared me off. More recently I bought it to play games with my two cousins, along with a handful of close friends

I just got a PS3 a couple days ago, and I got it mainly because of Uncharted 2.

I wanted a console that I could play my huge library of ps1 and ps2 games on as well. Of course the prospect of having the hard drive included, the online included and a blu ray player made the choice pretty easy.

I got a great deal on my 60gig PS3, upgraded the HD to 250 gigs and havent looked back.

I noticed Uncharted 2 and all of the other cool games. xD

I was inches off buying a 360 but then thought as my slim ps2 was reliable I'd upgrade to slim ps3.

My PSP told me to.

Because it was $299 and came with infamous and AA..

Actually, I was planning on buying the ps3 before that too. But it was a doubt. Then I saw that deal and I was sold.

I would say the following pushed me toward a ps3 purchase.

a number of sony exclusive franchises e.g. Gran Turismo, God of War, Rachet N Clank.

Reliable nice features with free online gaming. I have'nt tried some features though, but I read somewhere that it does everything.

I had all the other consoles then ended up buying a PS3 better then both Wii and 360 but I've always liked the exclusives on Playstation and they do have the best developers which is a fact.

I fractured my jaw my friend lent me their PS1 I loved it so I got a PS2 for my birthday I am addicted to many of the series on the PS2 that carried over to the PS3 so naturally I had to get it.

I played Uncharted at a electronics store, later that night I played it with my friend at my house lol

God Of War 2, after playing it, I knew the third one would be on the PS3, but also because I prefer the PlayStation brand for consoles :).

Trust and satisfaction since the Playstation One... 8)

MGS4 is the first thing that made me want a PS3...yet ive always wanted it and ive had the PS1 and 2 along with the portable so might as well

Originally I had a Wii that I played on an old CRT but after my 10 year old CRT blew out I decided to invest in an HDTV.

Since I now had an HDTV I had a huge temptation to use it to its full potential which meant Blu-ray movies and HD video gaming... so I sold my wii and put the money torwards a Ps3.

I was also thinking about getting another pc for the living room at the time and after learning that the Ps3 had a web browser it made my choice to get one even better.

Just really wanted a PS 3 so I could be cool like my friends. LOL

WELL, my first console was the ps1, I had crash bandicoot, I ended up getting another ps1 for my dads, aswell as the ps1slim or whatever it was called. I then got the ps2 for christmas which I loved, followed later by the ps2 slim. For the current generation for christmas my parents got me a 360, which I must say I liked up until the ps3 came out, I always wanted one. My 360s red ringed and what not until I bought a new arcade this month, I opened it up and played with it until I realized I just wanted the ps3, it was the best choice but I didn't want to wait to return it. I ended up resealing it after a night and returning the 360 for a ps3, which I love, won't go back to another problem-ridden 360. It's so boring ! I don't touch my wii anymore either.

I had my 360 for a while, wanted to play more games and try out the PS3 exclusives, I like having all of the consoles (But I refuse to buy a Wii), and a few of my friends had them so I decided to just get one for my birthday. I've been enjoying inFamous ever since.

i've had every playstation system and with god of war 3 is on the horizon:)

Mostly LBP and Star Ocean were the games I was anticipating when I bought the system, but mostly I just wanted to get a system that could play all my PS1, PS2, And PS3 games. So I bought the MGS4 bundle since It was a pretty sweet deal and I figured that would be the last BC PS3, lo and behold I was right!

The Playstation 1 and 2 made me get a Platstation 3. Both were solid systems with great games, so buying a PS3 was a no brainer.

i only had an xbox last gen so i wanted to cross over to the dark side. i wanted little big planet and killzone 2.
the main reason we got one though is because it can play blu-rays.

I always was a playstation Maniac. Since PSone.

i got myself a ps3 because i think the sequel to games i played on my ps2 will be coming to ps3.

Good games, free network, great graphics.

As with most, the exclusives. Metal Gear Solid 4 was on the horizon, and I was still under the impression at the time that the Final Fantasy series would remain exclusive (that didn't happen though...) Plus I was very interested in a few that had already been released, namely Heavenly Sword. The blu-ray player was definitely enticing aswell. raven_squad
