Who or What made you get a Playstation 3?

I had a wiii a couple years ago. Great system, it was reliable and fun. But, after I bought about 5 games i realized there were no more games left that looked good at all. So I sold it and bought my 360. Also a great system, I only bought a few games though. They were fun, but I never played them. 6 months after I bought it I had sold it again. My friend was just about to get a ps3, and being the mischievious fellow that I was, I decided to go buy one before he got his just so he was mad. Well it worked :) Now I have an awesome system that has basically the same games as the 360 plus all the amazing exclusives.

Well, thats my story. Lets hear yours...

Metal Gear Solid 4 and no RROD.

I'm being dead serious when I say that I've been planning to get a PS3 ever since I beat MGS3 on the PS2. And this was back in 2004.

i owned a ps1 and later owned a ps2. when i heard of the ps3 i decided to stick to sony, mostly for that reason.

i had a ps3 made sence ;)

I grew up with Playstation so it only seemed the logical thing to do. I wasn't going toadrubtly switch to Xbox .

I never owned a ps1 but i loved the console cause a friend of mine had it and even though i was a sucky little kid i loved it anyway.
Parents got me a ps2 when it was still rather new and i loved that even more, so many great characters, sly, rachet, jak, kratos, sora.

And then my parents said they wont buy me a ps3 cause they wanted me to stop gaming, and i only had $200NZ(100US ish) and i decided to trade in my ps2 and games and that would have been worth around 200 at eb aswell, then i was still short and was thinking about getting a wii. But then it had only 10 games which were rated M or over and only 4 of them looked interesting so i decided wii wasnt for me. I was considering a 360 cause quite a few of my friends have one but another friend of mine would never let me live it down if i got a 360, just as i was about to buy the 360 eb emailed me a vip deal where you get a ps3 for $400NZ(200US) if you trade in a ps2 slim and 15games.

All i had to do was swap my ps2 fat to the ps2 slim my mate owned and i got my ps3.

And i've never been dissapointed.
Also i didnt want to miss out on KH3, GOWIII, and KZ2.
KZ1 was like the first war FPS i liked, since timesplitters doesnt count.

I've always had a Playstation console. I wanted to get the PS3 right when it came out. But settled for my birthday.. May 2007 :)

I bought Resistance and Need for Speed Carbon with it, and bought Oblivion 2 weeks later. Two of the best games I've played! (Not Carbon btw)

Brand loyalty, MGS4, shiny black finish, none of my friends owns a 360... take your pick.

PS1, PS2, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet & Clank, God of War, Team ICO, Final Fantasty (back when we all thought it was exclusive), free online, and wireless

whats making me get a playstation 3 is the price drop and uncharted 2

that game looks great, kinda reminds me of indiana jones so i like it already

Basically the Bears made it to the Superbowl (which they lost to the stupid flippin Colts) so I had bought a HD tv to watch the game on. 2 days later I Figured since I had a HDTV now I might as well pick it up. Got a 60gig, had it sitting by my tv for about 3 months before I even opened it, now its my favorite of the next gen systems.

I got ps3 because of wonderful experience i got on ps2 and its tons of RPG game. I bought ps3 after 2 years from launch date hoping for more RPG but i was wrong, only a couple of RPG satisfied my gaming for these past 2 years. I'm looking forward to 2010 for more RPG

Price drop and I own the previous sony consoles. So I got back into consoles when the price was low.

don't like Xbox and I am a sony fanboy^^ so when the price drop came, I got myself one and bought many games

that game was the best.

I always had Sony consoles in the past. But this time i tried something new, the 360, i was having fun with it, when..... it got 3rl. Then i decided to go back to Sony, I have my PS3 for a year now, i must say 10/10, really enjoying it

I grew up on playstation.My hands wont adjust to another controller now.

I got an HDTV, and was looking for a Blu ray player. The cheaper ones got lousy reviews, so I was looking at ones in the $300 range. I figured that for $100 more, I could get a PS3 and the whole video game aspect of it as well. Not to mention using it as an MP3 jukebox, which is another thing I wanted. And I've had a PS1 and a PS2 and really enjoyed the games.

I got tired of keeping up with PC hardware for the games I wanted to play and noticed that less interesting titles are coming to PC. I also wanted the PS3 as a media server. So far it seems promising in that respect.

Ummmmm...research made me get my 60gb PS3 day 1. I didn't buy it for hype, someone else's point of view on it or just to be the cool kid like some buyers did. Plus, I had the money to get it & felt I needed to cross over to the next gen side.

My 360 kept breaking:D So I got feed up with it and got a PS3, and I could't be happier!!

Except I'm really gonna hate missing out on Mass Effect 2:cry:

I got my PS3 because i always preferred Sony's platform the most ever since the PS1 days. Ive been using the dualshock the majority of my gaming life so i like it more then the 360 controller or the wii-mote. And the exclusives on PS3 also appeal to me more then those on other platforms.

i was a fanboy since PS2. lol

I always intended to get one, when gt5 prologue came out I couldn't resist any longer and bought the bundle.

blu ray, and the fact that i like games but blu ray sealed the deal...
