OK. It seems like every other day there are threads commenting on how bad the 3000 is, defending how good it is, people asking which PSP to buy, people asking which one is best. Lets get this over with once and for all with a poll and lets see which one really is most popular and/or the best.

I personally am just fine with my original 1000 but I believe that the 2000 is the best with its balance between price and functionality. It has everything the others have to offer minus the built in microphone which is easily remedied with an accessory. Some people say the 3000 is better, some say its worse, but its still more exensive and because doesn't it offer anything thats really new I feel that it gets beat by it's predecessor.

So come on, vote. Get your opinion in. The more people that vote the more reliable the results. Feel free to post your opinions as well.

I'm saying, I haven't bought either the lite or brite because I am happy with my original system. But I feel the 2000 is best, and is what I'd get if I didn't already own a PSP.

I own both a 1000 and a 2000. I like the feel of the 2000, but the 1000 is sturdier. I have no experience with the 3000, but from what I read it doesn't seem like a worthwhile enough upgrade to call for an increase in price. My vote goes for the 2000. Best balance, as someone else said.

There are all PSP's and I find very little differences. I only got the 2000 because im a huge star wars fan and was inlove with the darth vader psp thats why i got it. The new versions are made so you sell your old one and get a new one but to make people who dont have a psp get one.

I have had every iteration of the PSP since the 1000. In my opinion the 3000 has been the best one yet. The 1000 was great, and I upgraded to the 2000 and I was rather disappointed. The system had a myriad of problems, as far as durability and the way it was built. The face plate cracked, and I never ever dropped it, dead pixels were constant, and the screen plate wasn't flush with the faceplate causing scratches on the screen. I was just unimpressed, so I sold it, and bought a 3000 and I am just extremely happy with it, best one yet. Idk thats just me. Hope this helps.

2000 was a slightly more better upgrade compared to the 3000 model, but this is probably because the 3000 was released in another of Sony's attempts to stop hackers. They should have added some more features than just a dismal attempt at a better screen, a matte finish, built in mic and component cables working on older tvs. Sony should have been a little more dramatic this round.

It seems that sony are just mindlessly reproducing new PSPs to try and sell more products. I think that the PSP 3000 was more of a trial to test if Sony had the technology to beat hackers. They just added a few extra gimmics to sell a few of them. This trial is just to see if they can beat the hackers and if so use that hard drive in the PSP 2. This may have been an objective in the PSP 2000 and it obviously failed so that made them release a PSP with different Hardware. They would do this to make sure that when they release the PSP 2 it is unhackable. there would be nothing worse for sony than releasing the PSP 2 and finding out it could be hacked and losing millions in game sales as they already have. But it also seems that hackers may have caught on to this because non of the main hackers have really tried to hack into the PSP 3000. Only amatuers have tried. Does this mean they know how to hack into it but arn't releasing the technology because they want to wait for the bigger prize of the PSP 2? I hope not because the hacking of PSPs has caused a lot of major gaming companies to steer away from the PSP. Thank god for Square Enix for producing PSP games or else I would probably be selling my PSP and investing in a less hackable gaming console.

So I guess the general consensus is that the 2000 is the best, although I am surprised that more people like the 1000 more than the 3000.

if u dont have a psp i say buy the 3000 cuz it has more stuff to offer and i dont know the price of the 3000 but it probably isnt that much compared to the 2000. im just happy with my 2000 but if i had the chance i would get 3000 depending on the price. if its $40 or more, compared to the 2000, forget about it .i would wait for the prices to go down

I have my original 1000 (bought it release night at midnight) but I want to upgrade to the 3000 because it's slimmer. Besides, I lost the analog stick on my PSP. It must have popped off. I bought the 3 color analog sticks from Naki World, but they are way too big (althought very comfy). It also has some scratches that bother me.

I just want to upgrade, basically.

I'm really disappointed the 3000 doesn't come in ceramic white like the 2000. That white PSP is so gorgeous!

Yet you mention nothing about the more advanced screen on the 3000? About how it has better anti-reflective technology, more pixels, and brighter screen?

It also weighs less.

I used to own a 1000. I now currently own both a 2000 and a 3000. The 3000 is superior to the 2000 in every way that matters. I'm not just pulling this out my rear end. I actually own both.

just because you cant afford it or its not worth the upgrade doesn't mean its not better. Fact other then a few screen probs in some games 3000 >1000, 2000. I chose 3000 because of the the built in microphone, the more features, the better, I'm still with the psp 2000 slim lite, but I would get a 3000, but right now, I don't really play any of my portable consoles

3000 is at best a modest upgrade, though the only time I've ever noticed the scan lines is when navigating the XMB or when something is scrolling rapidly. Not sure why it doesn't stand out at all at other times for me; could just be because I'm farsighted.

Yeesh, it was only a quick opinion >> This isn't some 3000 hate thread...

But just to clarify on your points just now...

Where did you hear that the 3000 has more pixels? It has exactly the same resolution as the 2000 and as the original. Also it doesn't have a weight advantage over the 2000 so that point isn't really valid. It does have anti-reflective technology, something I neglected to mention (sorry!), but its usefulness as well as the brightness is debatable (I play my psp and ds on the lowest brightness setting). Also the 3000 has the whole scan line issue which is also pretty debatable as to how bad it really is, but the fact is that it is there. As I previously mentioned, the 3000 comes equipped with a microphone but is also commands a higher price (on bestbuy). I just feel the 2000 is better value. My own opinion ok..

I've own one of each, and I got to say, the PSP 3000 is the best. The screen is so more vivid, looks like HD. Plus, its controls are more responsive. If you was gonna buy one, I would recommend the PSP 3000.
