Do you platinum a lot of games, try to do all the trophies you can? Do you just play the game and don't care? Or do you play the game and just do the trophies that are fun?

I'm kinda a trophy hunter. I platinum easy games. But I do try to get as many trophies as possible. It's fun to. Some games I do play just for fun if I don't want to spend a lot of time on.

I used to trophy hunt a bit, but now I'll only do it if I really really love the game. Even then I'll only do it if the trophies aren't ridiculously stupid, like heavy collection tasks or "beat the game without dying" type nonsense.

I try to get as many as I can. Its fun when they're awarded for doing additional things, rather than 'you completed chapter 1'. So in that respect it adds more value to the game in my eyes.

I have no platinums at all and I play a ton of games, I guess that means im not a trophy hunter.

I don't go hunting for them but its nice to hear that sound when I achieve one. It gives a sense that completed something and could look back on it.

I buy games that I think I'll like, after that yes I will try to get most or all of the trophies in that game.

No not really. I think I have 10 or 11 and they are all games I wanted to play and enjoyed. I don't play games simply to get a platinum. A lot of people around here are like that. I don't see the need to play games I have zero interest in simply to get an irrelevant trophy.

Yeah, there's some ups and downs. I tend to get more about of games by going after the platinum and have tried out some games I normally wouldn't bother with and end up liking them. Then there's some of the low points like unnecessary grinding and having played a few bad games I normally wouldn't play. Overall it's been a fun experience. I play games to enjoy them, but I still like going after trophies even when I have to do something kind of stupid sometimes.

This is why I try and get some trophies. Great trophy lists make you explore places you might not otherwise or maybe try a different combat tactic. You get the most out of some games by going for trophies.

When I finish a game, I'll take a look and see what I need in order to get the plat. I have played a few games that only require an additional 15-20 minutes to get the trophy, so I give it a go. If the game is enjoyable enough to replay several hours in order to 100% it, I don't mind that either. I hate seeing anything less than 100% for any game in my trophy list, not as a hunter, but as a completionist.

I have also played many games that require you to play online, so there goes that plat for me going in. I see no reason we should have to earn MP trophies in order to totally complete a game. Unless MP is the primary element. Hopefully Sony changes that policy next gen. If we're required to pay to play online, online trophies should just be a bonus.

Depends.

Typically when I start a game I'm not, but if I manage to obtain a fair amount of trophies within my playthroughs I usually decide to see it to the end, just for kicks and giggles.

I always play the game first just for fun, never thinking about trophies at all, if the game is fun and it has replay value, then I will consider trying to platinum it, normally at a later date. If the game has online requirements for trophies then I will skip trying to platinum it.

Online trophies are annoying to me, and sometime annoying to the people you're playing against. Personally I think getting rid of online trophies would give some games more replayability, but I could be in the minority with that, oh well it is what it is.

That's quite sad. One wonders how you played games in the 90's when no games had achievements/trophies. But then again, this type of mentality doesn't really surprise me these days.

I didn't know any better. I'm not going back to cooking over an open fire, watching glass tube television sets or rotary phones either. Gaming has changed. Trophies are the lifeblood. They ARE gaming.

I had no problem with gaming not having achievments back in the 90's and 2000's. But it's evolution and they are here to stay

You had no problems with that Sly 3 plat though, huh? How long did those minigame challenges take you?

If I really like a game and would enjoy spending extra time with it, and if the platinum doesn't require any ridiculous trophies like play online for 1,000 hours, then I'll go for the platinum probably.  If I don't care much for a game or if the trophies are ridiculous I'm quite happy to skip it though.

Had no problem replaying any of the Sly titles. They were fun games. Just looked at my gamercard info for them(minigames) 11:49 was my time. I hoped for more tasks, but brevity is welcomed too. Got to leave us yearning for more. Played Sly 4? I'm curious about it. It'll be some time before I have a chance to play it.

With a completion rate as low as yours I'm not sure I believe you. Especially with that lifeblood claim. If anything you're saying is true, you're lookin pretty anemic.

Got to agree on that
