Since Sony is releasing new games in 3D, are you actually going to play in 3D? upgrading from SD to 3D or from HD to 3D.

What do you guys think of 3D gaming ?

For me I honestly would enjoy GT5 3D but considering 3D is new on in the market. I dont want to invest in a really expensive TV and the next year I see way better TVs for a cheaper price.

I think, I will wait for 2011 and see if I can get a good deal.

Dont forget to leave your comments :P

I'm not sure on this one myself. 3D games would surely be fun, and I do need a new TV as my semi-old Panasonic does not like to turn on at times, but the whole glasses thing kinda bugs me.

One of the questions should have been: No glasses give me a headache.

^ this. My next telly will be a 3D tv, so I am going to be taking full advantage of both 3D games and movies.

No, it's not about money, I don't want to wear goofy glasses while I play!

Its going to take a long time for consumers to convert to the 3D format. People are now just getting used to HD tv's being affordable. Its cool to watch in a theater, but I am not going to shell out $3,000 for a 3D TV. It they start showing everything in 3D then maybe at that time I will consider.

I can't actually see things in 3D unfortunately. So, no I'm not going to spend any money on it. It's just annoying because ever since Avatar came out, everyone is all 3D crazy now and like every movie is in 3D. I had to find a theatre that's 45 minutes away just to watch Toy Story 3. As long as games aren't required to be played in 3D, I'll be good.

HD has been mass market now for a decade and a lot of people still have SDTVs. The people who adopted earlier have vastly inferior products and thats if they still even work.

In 10 years if 3D has taken off like HD has today, i will consider buying a 3D TV. Not until then.

Unless 3D gaming arcades open up, probably not. I don't really want to buy a new/first gen version of 3D tvs. Better ones will come out later, and probably be cheaper too. So it'll have to wait I guess.

well see. i certainly dont want to get a 3DTV right now, since the prices are about as high as they ever will be. plus with the 3ds coming out (and its assured financial success), it makes me wonder how long it will be before they start releasing 3DTV's that dont require glasses. my current HDTV works just fine, so ill be waiting.

I think 3D gaming is a cool experience but the price of upgrading way too high now, so i think its more sensible to wait for good 3D games and wait for 1 year, probably thats the time when prices for 3D tvs will go down. But everyone is talking about 3D gaming, and its getting alot of praise, so i am looking forward to it, of course i wont be paying 2000$+ to play in 3D. :P

1) 3D TV's are way too expensive to justify a few pieces of 3D media and 2) I don't want to wear blindfolds.

No I will not be Gaming in 3D since you'll need a 3D capabale T.V which is $1200.00 if your lucky to find one that cheap. I will have to see if an update for Sony PS3 would actually work? PS move in 3D? or Xbox Kennect in 3D? Maybe I'll try The 3DS but I didn't even try The DS/DS lite/DSi/DSLL so it is unlikely I'll try the 3DS. Or if Nintendo made the Wii into a 3D console? You still need a new Television/An Add on Move/Kennect/ The 3D glasses/ An Update? Then games that a worth it for 3D.

The answer is No. I will wait and see if this pans out. or 3D is just a fad. Will the 3DS work? Or will 3D for Sony and MS work out?

Not Yet. My answer is No I will not be gaming in 3D on the PS3 or another System....

Not until they go down in price, 5k for a TV is too much for something with like 10 games out.

I'm waiting for actual 3D technology. A T.V. that I have to wear glasses for, and get the converter blue ray or PS3, along with a T.V. is just a little rediculous. I will be waiting a long time possibly. I feel it will be a little too much of an investment, that will not pay off in the long run. Sony won the war for Blu-ray compared to HD, they might be tossing too much into this Tech.

GT 5, Killzone 3 and other titles will make 3D gaming a must by the end of next year. I think it will be great if the technology of 3D TVs got cheaper.

I am going to wait on this one. I'm not too confident on how well the 3D TV is going to sell, especially in this tough economic times. I think that many people are going to take a pass, and that is going to effect the quality/quantity of the games released. It might catch on in a few years from not, but I won't be one of the first to buy it.

#1) Wait for Price to come down

#2) Wait for better tech

#3) Wait for better and more 3D games

#4 Wait for more 3D movies

But i will buy a 3D tv for sure, something like a 46" or 50". I cannot wait in 2 or 3 years to watch 3DTV with my little daughter, she's only 8 months now :S But first i need to buy a House :)

I wish 3D never happened, I will not be taking a part in it especially considering the price it will come at. Technology is evolving too far, too fast for it's own good.

I haven't read all the posts in here but I have pointed out to some friends that there is one major problem with 3d that they didnt think of until i mentioned it and why i wont be watching 3d until there are no more glasses.

Has anybody else noticed that because you have to wear shaded glasses, the colours on screen are more dull? I know it sounds stupid but from a dev's point of view I'd hate to spend years making a visually stunning and vibrant and colourful game like Uncharted 2 to then have people shade the colours out with 3d glasses. HD brings out bright and strong colours to compliment the smoother and smoother textures we are seeing.

Why ruin that with shading and ghosting the image via 3d tech that isnt fleshed out yet?

I would if I had a 3D TV. I'm not a huge fan of 3D, but it could be neat every once and a while, and options are always nice. Also waiting for the tech to drop in price, and I think improvements to the technology, perhaps much like 3DS wireless 3D, could be possible in a few years.

Considering how I only recently purchased my HDTV, I will not be getting into 3D gaming in the foreseeable future. I don't think it justifies buying a new TV set and shelling out the extra cash for glasses and what have you.

I know someone who has a 3D television so I'm set to go at anytime. However, I tried playing some demoes in 3D and they wouldn't work. We turned on the setting for 3D, wore the glasses, and nothing happened. On the motorstorm demo we saw the option to play in 3D but the cursor wouldn't let me highlight and select it. Is there an option like on the XMB that I forgot t turn on or something?

I think Sony released 3D gaming and TV's too early. We are still in a recession. :(
