The holiday season is around christmas and to have an effect on christmas sales it would have to happen well in advance, maybe mid november. Hopefully these rumors aren't too wide spread or else the 60GBs won't sell out as everyone waits to get the price reduced 80GB or cheap 40GB. If the 60GB don't sell out, what can they do with them?

I'd pick up the new ones. I doubt you'll notice the difference between an emulator and true BC. The improved Bluetooth is a big plus since mine tends to spaz out.
So, since that report says they are announcing at TGS, and TGS has come and gone with no announcement, you still believe that this will happen? I'd love nothing more than to see a $399 40 GB version as my friends that want PS3 have been waiting for it to happen, but if you are going to rely on that report as proof, then I have to throw the B.S. flag out on it. I'd say that if by November it hasn't happened, then count on another holiday season of $599 PS3 prices.

I'm assuming so, since all they produce is wireless versions now, they'd have to have a warehouse full of the old school 20 gig versions to slap a 40 gb drive in to, which wouldn't make any sense. IF it happens, count on WiFi and chrome version.
