Last time when i was here i asked if i can run Medieval II Total War on a 1.6 Ghz single core processor , 1 GB Ram and on a FX 5500 NVidia Geforce 256 MB Video Card ... Youtold me that HELL NO !! Well it worked almost perfect. I conquered the world.

Last week i upgraded my PC !! :) :)

Now i have anb AMD DualCore 2.9 GHZ Processor

NVidia Geforce 8600 with 512 MB Video memory video card

and 892 RAM ( it's almost a GB :) )

Can you please tell me if i can run Empire Total War and Assasins Creed 1 or 2 ???

yeah mas effect wouldnt be an issue for you on high. as wouldnt elder scrolls 4, gothic 3, the witcher might be a little towards medium. borderlands on medium with oddles of frames to spare however you lack the ability to go higher due to dated software on the card. fable:TLC, mass effect 2 on low, assassins creed 1 on medium - high, guildwars you could max out, bioshock, warhammer 40k: dow2 are borth worth at least investigating you could get those to go high.

i recommend you upgrade the cou and gpu though all the same there getting on in there time and games are starting to pass them by. i also HIGHLY stress the need for more ram for future gaming. im calling it after march few if any games will have less than 2gb ram as there min. system requirements.

no thats without AA or AF your gpu is on the line as is your cpu thjis means your going to get 30 sometimes alittle mes on medium.

id say you need the 1gb for assasins creed to go low - medium.. though lowest would work. thats even if you dropped the resolution down low which is what i imagine you did for medival total war.

there wont be an issue unless you try something dumb like it on a 34" widescreen or something :P

if i add another gig of ram how much difrence will make for playimg games? specs amd athlon x2 4000+, nvidia 7950, 2 gig ram and win xp.theG_man

itd be noticeable im going to say easily a 5-10% preformance jump (varying on the game or app discussed) but anything after 4gb ram is a tad excessive.

most nay game from the yera 2000 onward will run on windows 7 they fixed that from vista's incompatibility issues. anything later however you will need to dual boot xp or earlier or run dosbox.

the list of incompatible games from 2000 or earlier is few and far between and that are NO games from the 2008-2009 years that arent friendly towards windows 7.

Hi this is my first post here, I'm very new to computers in general, I just bought my first laptop it's a Toshiba Satellite A505-S69803, no link to specs. sorry (my Google-fu sucks.) I have oblivion on it and it plays well with lowered video settings to prevent excessive lag. I plan On getting an XB360 for gaming but I still want to be able to play a few games that are fun on my Laptop, so.. Games currently on my system: Oblivion, Sniper: art of victory. I haven't had much luck playing, still getting used to playing on a PC and the touch pad makes it impossible! got a mouse today to fix that. Now to my question: Can I play Far Cry 2? I've gone to "system requirements lab" and it said I can't play FC2 or Oblivion but I can play Oblivion. I've been to "you gamers" and it says that I can't because I have 196MB video memory and I need 256MB. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks! thwolf

If you can barely play Oblivion, I doubt you can play Far Cry 2.

look into code of honor, painkiller, serious sam: the second encounter, doom 3, quake 4, fear, fable: the lost chapters, elder scrolls 3: morrowind, prey i guess.. half life source, red alert 3, dawn of war 1, AoE 3, battlefield 2 and 2142.

alrdy addressed it.. you can essentially max it out meybe drop a few settings if you need to in order to improve frames a little. so in the end a mdoified (for the better) high.

heres a recommended upgrade for it kk if you do buy it.. the parts are easy enough to install just take your time read directions and come packing (no.2 + head screwdriver is the weapon of choice).

the 9600gso doesnt need alot of power but this ensures that if you ever wish to go big time with your gaming.. you can in comfort. like if you wanted to get a gtx 200 series and go through instances with 100+ fps :P

negative farcry 2 is significantly more demanding.

however if its any concelation you can consider getting bioshock and running just as good as you do oblivion.

A question from my brother. My father just bought him a Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop and was wondering if he could run Mass Effect, Bioshock, The Last Remnant, Dead Space, and Resident Evil 5.
