Personally I like the game but you cant go 20 minutes without the game crashing. I feel like it could be a great game but I simply cannot play it, and I have tried nearly every suggustion I have come across to remidy it.

After crashing for maybe like the 30th time I give up on the game but I gotta say $3 on steam sale isnt half bad, if it was any more I would be SERIOUSLY regretting my purchase. Im letting anyone who reads this know before they buy it, this game is just simply unplayable. You may want to think before you buy this one.

Quite the contrary , it is one of the most well optimized games there is. Problem is on your side.

the curse of PC gaming is that you cant code a game for all the various rigs out there.

Someone, somewhere, with some configuration...is going to get the shaft.

with that said, I won't take anyone dissing on my Just Cause 2!!! Amazing, freaking fun, corny, epic game!

Seriously, though, I am sure you can find a fix for your problem somewhere.

I didn't have any problems with it. One or two crashes in the ~40 hours I spent with the game. Have you made sure your drivers are up to date and all that jazz?

Definitely an issue on your side. I've got dozens of hours logged into JC2 and i've never had a crash. Or even any framerate problems. And im on a laptop from 2009.

I decided to do a debug report of a crash, it says in visual studio

"Unhandled exception at 0x772615de in JustCause2.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x32ecc474."

This. Sure, most of the game is copy and paste, but the scale is huge. Crashes? Never had one single crash. This sounds like user error. Check your video drivers.

Yup this too, but I find it hard to believe that the TC tried all the basic troubleshooting options before he posted this blog. It's one thing if he was just asking for help but he's already defecating all over the game and trying to convince ppl to not buy it.

Video drivers are up to date, monitored the heat of my GPU and CPU everything is fine, also tried to run it in administrator mode, still crashes....

I have my opinion and I shared it, last time I checked this forum supported free speech. Just because I review something and give it a bad rating, that doesn't appeal to YOUR opinion of the game doesn't make it any less valid. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone based on my personal experience with it.

Im sure the game is great for people who can get it to work, but I dont know anyone in the real world who has it working so look at it from my point of view.

BTW if I wanted to make a blog I would have.

I've never crashed with Just Cause 2. It must be on your end.

Considering there has never been a widespread crashing error it has to be on  your end. You can disagree with people all you want, but that doesn't change a thing.

The game runs flawlessly on my laptop.

By the way this forum DOES NOT support "Free Speech", take a look at the Terms Of Use.

I played the game for over 150 hours on PC and I think it only froze on me once - and that was when I Alt-Tabbed to do something else.  It ran fine, even on my PC which isn't that great.

Haven't any problems either, only complaint is that the controls are a bit over sensitive in my opinion.

But if you want to let everyone who buys it to know stuff about it...

Steam Game Hubs are the answer and correct place to do so.

Dude, it's not an opinion. You're saying that it's poorly optimized when it's your computer that's failing to run the game and everyone else's is running fine. It's not an opinion of ours to say that it is well optimized, when it IS and runs fine for us. Just because your computer fails to do something doesn't mean that the program is at fault, it's  your computer. That's fact, not opinion. And flash update for you, I do live in the real world; don't be insulting.

My computer plays any other game completly fine, I can max out JC2 even with 16xAA at 40+FPS. Its the game not me, also my pcs OS is just fine, no viruses or useless background programs.

I tried also running on default and it still happens. Im glad YOU guys can run it but I cant neither can "now both" of my friends. Im starting to think its Steams fault.

You've verified the cache files? Tried different video drivers? Uninstall the game, delete any remaining registries, and then reinstall. It could be that Just Cause 2 doesn't like any overclocking you've done on your hardware including your CPU @5GHz. Is your GPU overclocked? Run them all at default and try again. If problems still persists, I think you have no choice but to move on. Cheers.

Did you try setting your hardware to default (no overclocked CPU or GPU)? Save your OC Profile, set to default factory, boot up JC2. Cheers.

^To add, you should go into registry (search bar: Regedit) and manually look for Just Cause 2 registries and delete them. I doubt that AVG registry cleaner will do it properly.
