Hi, I bought a 32" Mintek LCD wich is really nice and looks great, well, I was playing Fifa 06 and Fifa Street 2 for Xbox, in the back of the boxes, there says compatibility with 720p, so I connected the composite cables and everything and I noticed some slowdown in the graphics when 720p is in, but when 480p is in it looks faster.

Can you help me with this? what do u think that the problem is?

The TV says clearly that it can displays up to 1080i, its screen ratio is 16:9 widescreen, so what do u think???

I came across a nice 37" 8MS 1920 x 1080 display at my favorite(sp) Crysis board and I knew what I wanted for PC gaming. The Westinghouse display is $979.99 USD not including tax or shipping.

Crysis-Online thread
[H]ardOCP discussion thread
Newegg page

First two links contain a large number of pictures that show off the display in action. I wouldn't mind having one and I just wanted to post this here for the other people looking for a good display for sub $1,000.

-edit-

Websites that want to charge people money for wallpapers can go out of business. You can get many 1080P+ wall papers here.

SDTV is standard definition tv, 480i. EDTV is 480p. [p being better than i, generally] LCD means liquid crystal display, the kind of thing mobile phone screens and newer pc monitors tend to use. Google will answer any more complex questions you have about them...

Very good thread.

Quick question, would this TV provide a decent experience for PS3/360 owners? I've been looking for a small and decent HDTV for a while now, simply to play games on it. I am fine with 720p and was wondring if this thing would do the trick and if both the 360 and PS3 would be able to run on it, and if they would look decent by HDTV standards.

I think all these people asking about "X" TV or which TV is better need to invest in either

a) a new computer monitor, so that the FIRST POST can be read more clearly

b) a class in "Reading Comprehension", so that the FIRST POST can be read more clearly

or

c) all of the above

This isn't the thread to post your problems in people! This is a thread of links. (cause knowledge is power!)

Saw this "How to Buy a Flat Screen TV" on MSN's tech section. It's a pretty good informational read without getting too technical.

What's up Gamespot gamers! I had a question concerning a design job that I have recently taken up designing actual gaming chairs. These chairs are going to be the ultimate in surround sound for games, movies, and even music. These are real, high quality chairs with an unvbelievable sound system in them that uses a breakthrough new technology to offer you the best surround sound has to offer. Unlike those piece of junk rockers you see that demand a ridiculous price, these are going to appeal to every age group and be affordable to every level of income. What I would like from you guys is some feedback on things that would be cool to include on the actual designs of the chair. In other words, if you could design your own gaming chair, what feature(s) would you be sure to include to make sure you have the best gaming experience possible. I really appreciate the help and I'll be keeping you posted on the progress of the project. If you have any questions feel free to comment or send a message.

Thanks

If you're going the HD route, obviously Blu-ray has won the format war, and the PS3 is a fantastic Blu-ray player--just picked up Transformers, just out yesterday on BD, 1080p, Dolby True HD is the ultimate action movie. Love how this looks, sounds, and feels. My favorite Blu-ray title so far--the one I will use to show off my system to friends and family!

Ton of stuff about bonus features and whatever else you would want to know at http://transformersmovie.com

It sounds like your tv doessn't have any HDMI ports, meaning that you'll have to resort to component cables instead. Can you give us the model number of your tv so that we can check?
