HDTV - Guides and info links

I don't know much about TV's so hopefully someone out there does.I'm getting a TV for the holiday coming up...I need to get it from Dell.com...

I found this Vizio 32" and this Philips 32".
The Philips is 1080p which I know enough to know that it's better than the Vizio 720p. But again...I don't know much. 

I'd appreciate some help on what's good on the Dell site.  

There is a price limit...anything under $700 is do-able.  

Main use for my TV is my 360 and possibly hooking up my PC to it. It's going to be my personal TV in my bedroom. I will watch movies but no blu-ray player yet. 

Bestcovery - Best Plasma & LCD TV is another good resource. They have Best LCD TV Overall, Best Picture Quality for the Money, etc -- seems to answer a lot of the questions frequently posted in this forum.

what's the difference between the Samsung 40" 1080p LCD and the Sony Bravia 46"1080p LCD other than contrast ratio and the size? What is better to view blu-ray movies on in 1080p?

oh sweet. I was curious becaue I wanted to upgrade from my Samsung 32"720p TV. I was saving the money to buy a bulldog puppy but those puppies cost more than the hospital bill when I was born.Another thing there is a Sony TV that is 32" 1080p with the refresh rate of 120hz but I heard from people that 1080p is not worth it with anything under 40". Is that valid?

So that means I have to get a 52" tv in order to watch blu ray movies in all their glory. bummer. maybe in black friday i can score a nice deal on one of those tvs

noob question here, ima buy a sony hdtv 720 tommo and i am not sure how to hook it up to my 360 and ps3. So for xbox do i just plugh it normally and swithc that button to hd and change it in display to hdtv? and for ps3 i just plug it in and thats it?

Is this 32in TV good or should I get 1080p? I'll be using it for SD programs and DVD, until I get a ps3/360. Veiwing distance about 4-5ft. Thanks.

i just got a 42 inch 1080p plasma. Am i supposed supposed to calibrate it in order to get the best quality possible when playing video games? if so, how do i do it?

When I play games on my hdtv I notice certain things are very blocky or fuzzy like loading screens and cut scenes. no problem with actaul gameplay graphics though.

example when bioshock 2 starts up the 2K animation looks blocky as does the final cutscene

also I dont experience this on a regular tv
