well they kinda gave up beacose france helped the US and also spain and the dutch started some **** (all 3 of them supporting the US all the time btw) and the british figured it is better to just leave the US alone and take care of the other european countrys first.

Probably Canada. They're America's biggest trading partner, they provide the US with a ton of fresh water and electricity, etc.

They even recently signed an agreement that would allow militaries from either nation to send troops across each other's borders during an emergency. American troops in Canada would still be under American command, but would be under Canadian tactical command, and vice versa.

Canadian troops in America wouldn't be bound by any law that would prevent them from conducting law enforcement duties without permission.

Exactly. Such pointless wars were never in the empire's interests. There's no use in holding a geographical area if it's inhabitants turn out to be disloyal traitors.

These taxes that you speak of? They were to fund the debt England incurred fighting FOR America, and to support their army in America for AMERICAN DEFENSE. The taxes the colonists paid were FAR SMALLER then the taxes paid in England.

Before I know what I'm talking about? I said they were there for defensive purposes. Guess I should have clarified abit on the "supposedly" part. What I meant was that many Americans felt the army was there more to keep the colonies in check then to protect them, as they did a pretty lousy job of protecting Americans from French and Indian raids.

I know what the taxes were for. The British had no regards for American liberties. Which is why it is stupid to say American's were "disloyal traitors". Britain was being a tyrant and was asking for it.
