There's been a precipitous drop in attendance here on OT these past few months. The cowards are afraid of taking the fight to the bottom, unlike us brave souls clinging to the ship!

Seriously, did I miss something? I haven't been around a whole lot as of late but I try to check in.

This forum has been taken over by fanboys so, it's hard to communicate with anyone here anymore. That or I've been reading too many system wars posts and it's really brought me down.

Yeah, not a big fan of SW. But I haven't seen many of the usual OT suspects around in a good minute. There's a lot less people here than even just a couple of months ago.

All I've really been seeing for the last while is just SJW feminist threads and other PC political crap.

I check back here pretty often, but rarely find anything interesting.

@br0kenrabbit: Yes, I've noticed that several familiar names have been posting rarely (if at all) lately. Perhaps there's a reasonable explanation: Aren't most colleges busy with final exams, or busy gearing up for them?

I used to come around pretty often but this site lags awfully these days. It takes 60 seconds for me to get to OT from the mainpage and another 30 to open a thread.

Threads have all been crap, everybody is banned or they left.

It's a snowball effect. I'm still around, but I usually just stop by, see that no one's discussing anything, and then I don't discuss anything either. We could probably help revive the place if we were all more active in creating more discussions, it's just that I don't really want to. It's too much work, I'd rather just leech off of the discussions that other people are having.

I haven't seen anything from @GazaAli for ages. I'm afraid that he may have been banned. :-(

Remember those periodic ylyl threads and how rollcall was being posted in every 5 minutes? Those were the days.

Those girl problem threads were funny too. A lot of it has to do with the people who do return to ot see it's dead and don't come back , its a catch 22. If you guys make it look active people will start wanting to join in. You know like how the unions were.

I bet the guy at GS who made the decision to kill unions is in the basement somewhere, in irons, with a barely filled water dish just out of reach.

I miss how busy of a forum this place was, always stuff to talk about. Could barely keep up with how often new theads were being created.

tbh I always found that political/religious threads make off topic look unfriendly but they are the only topics that people seem to post in

Well there isn't much to do anymore. Before there were contests, polls, unions, fun topics, GS used to be closler to the community. That's gone, but there's still some charm.

Oh those threads.... Some of them lasted a long time if I remember right.

I too get loading lags when browsing the forums and it's really annoying. When a site cannot even provide the absolute basics, it's really hard to find motivation to return here...

And it's not like there's any decent traffic or interesting topics to make up for it.

Perhaps more Trump threads would help.

If someone creates a "why believe in God" thread it will probably have 100s of replies.

There's not been one of those for a while and they always seem to have the most activity.

I created some topics myself ... no replys ... I also tryed to fit my stuff into mainstreammessages in other topics, but it only makes people mad and insulting on a personal level ... so I stopped and only look for the sunshine

Maybe it's seasonal? Weather is better so more people do things outside. Also work load might be ramping up as well, for those of us that post at work.

As for me I'm an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering who will need to apply for Master's in a year so I've been pretty busy unfortunately but I have been lurking around ;P. GazaAli, we don't know where he is or what he is doing but we hope that he finally made it to Brussels and is simply taking his time to settle there.

But generally the activity of this forum has shrunk for whatever reason. I think a lot of people who used to create fun topics also lost motivation and we don't see a lot of fun topics being posted anymore.

Ha. I wish. I did play NG+ on my Dark Souls 2 save which was a lot of fun back in March though. But that was the height of my gaming this year.

It's great Islamophobia and misogyny are largely blotted out - at the expense of potentially cheap and easy traffic.

@uninspiredcup: the mods are against people speaking out against violence or thinking. It's a good culture they've produced.

The moment they started removing comments on the dl without notifying, warning or suspending you was the moment they made it useless to try and have a converstion here.

Not going to speak for all the moderators but I know you manually have to let people know via pm that you suspended them. This discourages a lot of moderators from doing the right thing and telling the user they suspended them for any number of days because that user will know who moderated them. The old system was a lot better when users could figure out who moderated them by going to ask the mods rather than harassing a moderator via pm.

Although I never liked how some of the people I liked on the forum did things that would get them moderated so I'd pretend I didn't see things and go about my business, another reason I quit because won't feel obligated to not post in a topic where people's posts should be deleted according to the rules.

I'd also like to point out how new members are treated. I see many, including myself being skipped over because I'm not a familiar face. I can make a post..be skimmed over and someone more known can say the exact same thing and generate responses. If you want to live in the past and treat it like a cub house then you're watching this forum slowly die.

All the high-number posters mostly left after the big change over and never came back. Gamespot never wanted forum traffic. Their racist/sexist/derogatory/inflammatory comment section was all they ever wanted.

Not every post is going to get a reply, even those from us long-time users.

You can make a brilliant post so perfect you consider including it in your thesis and no one replies, and then say something stupid and off-the-wall and get a ton of responses.

OT is more of a place for light-hearted ribbing, sly sarcasm and random banter than one of serious discussion. Not that we don't have serious discussions here from time-to-time, but that's less our character than the former.

But like any group, the more you hang around the more people are going to interact with you. Give us a chance to give you a chance. :-)

OT has been shit for years, it's not really a surprise no one posts here anymore.

The only really active forum on this site is System Wars, I only suggest going there if you really hate yourself.
