They speak of open-mindedness, yet also refer the the original as a "gender-neutral figure". And I don't know what they're supposed to mean about it improving safety.

What's wrong with single neutral pedestrian lights? That's what we have here and no complaints have ever been heard.

I dunno...wouldn't gender neutral signs be more socially responsible? Better yet, these all look like normal sized portioned and able people...what about small people and the disabled? Aren't these signs discriminatory to them in the same way hetero signs were to homosexuals? Signs should just be changed to walk/caution/stop. Even then, you would also have to have a audio speaker that announces instructions as well for the blind. And if you are blind, deaf, and disabled? No idea...maybe a social worker on every corner to assist those people across.

Probably a combination of both. It has reached international attention after all, and there is a lot of attention being lent to this because of the Euro Live Ball and Eurovision Song Contest, both of which have to do with homosexual and transsexual rights and what not.

I think there are lights for straight, gay, and lesbian couples. Guess each group has to wait for its appropriate light, otherwise chaos ensues.
