The freedom to degrade yourself is not worth having.SolidSnake35lol if you feel degraded then you shouldn't be doing it and i'd rather live in a true freedom based country than this fake one we have now
[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"][QUOTE="ZumaJones07"]your definition of a decent life is just in your head you know that right? it isn't universal and you're selfish in thinking so.DarkOfKnightYou might be right. Objective morality might be governed by rationality... and I'm definitely rational. ;) Are you being serious or just saying this stuff because it's fun to trick people into think you actually believe that? I don't know if I have a strong belief either way.... but I see nothing wrong with being a moral rationalist. Is there?
The freedom to degrade yourself is not worth having. Too many people on here argue for these so called freedoms and it's sad.SolidSnake35
I have the freedom to go out in front of the dining hall at 11:00 in the morning and ask people to spit on me. That's degrading to me, but it certainly isn't illegal. We can't regulate degradation.
Because you think having sexual freedom is degrading, doesn't mean that other people think that, or that is grounds for making it illegal.

I'd probably try and stop you. Call me crazy but I don't want to live in world where people are spitting on others. >_>I'd probably try and stop you. Call me crazy but I don't want to live in world where people are spitting on others. >_>SolidSnake35
Would you propose legislation that bans being asked to spit on in front of dining halls at 11:00 in the morning? Because you find it degrading doesn't mean that it should be illegal. Plenty of people find homosexuality to be degrading, should we go back to banning sodomy? Making it an offense? You're imposing your personal morality (whether you own up to that or not) onto other people.

Is it necessary? If it starts happening, we might need to put a stop to it. Then the OT brigade would roll in and support your right to be spat on... since there aren't better things to support in this world...Grasping at straws doesn't work. You can't compare homosexuality to prosititution...that is a little offensive.DarkOfKnight
It's extremely offensive that you would deny women their sexual freedoms. And the situations are comparable.
Prostitution and homosexuality are both acts that many people found or find degrading. They are or were both criminalized, depending on location. One has largely become decriminalized, while one remains largely criminalized. Public perception has changed quite a lot on one, but not the other. I don't think SS35 would ever claim that homosexuality should be banned, because it is degrading, yet he advocates the continued criminalization of prostitution. If we are to impose personal ethical views on what is degrading, then why don't those who find homosexuality degrading get to ban homosexuality?
It's worse that you keep saying this even though it's not true. Nobodies rights are being violated. What this is about is you making this a sexual rights issue to add power to your cause. .DarkOfKnightYou're telling women (and men) what they can and cannot do in regards to sex. This is by definition a sexual rights issue.
Moreover, you're entirely incorrect that homosexuality is now accepted because one's born that way. It has more to do with that it's harming absolutely no one, other than being "degrading" (or "unnatural" or whatever other word you want to use) in some eyes. Just like prostitution. Essentially, like homosexuality, because some might consider it wrong or degrading, doesn't mean that prostitution should be illegal.
you can still have sex with whoever, just not as a source of income...DarkOfKnightthat's absurd, why not? just cuz you're not hot enough to do it yourself i bet.
You know, after much thought, maybe it should be legal. First off, it's not slavery if the male/female wants to do it. Second, even if they don't enjoy their jobs, who doesn't occasionally not enjoy their jobs whether menial or complex? And third, although it may be morally disgusting, it could bring down human trafficking and disease and it can be better regulated.
Besides, it's all choice, no one is forcing one or the other into doing something they don't want to do.
Do you still pretend to be the rumour spreader, SS35? >__>[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"]Just wait till the guys at school here about this!Teenaged

[QUOTE="ShuLordLiuPei"]It has nothing to do with being edgy. It has to do with allowing women (and men) the right to have free reign over their sexual rights. You really are full of yourself aren't ya?
Brah sex is a gift from god made to be used in the context of marriage. Prostitution is a different story and a total mockery of the design of God straight from evil
GameGuy642003
And since this country is supposed to be secular, that's exactly why it shouldn't be illegal. But it's not run with secular intentions anymore, which is why it IS illegal. Although arguments about human trafficking are rather legitimate. Could there possibly be a way to allow prostitution through some sort of license? It seems logical enough to me.
