if your definition of most successful=best, then by your definition........ If what we come to know as classical is the "best". If the practice that started in about 1150 AD (of which we know about) and is still played to this day (and to a more diverse audience than you can even imagine ((Because I doubt you know what classical music really "is")), then it's the most successful due to the longevity. Hip hop/rap may be dead in 10, 20, or 30 years.

Definately a troll thread. Rap has no instruments being played, just someone in the background playing a drum machine that is full of samples from other songs/music, mostly rock, and shows no originality. Even all the beats sound the same.

I dont hate Rap, but i hate the culture. i realised that a lot of youth/urban social problems are aggravated by rappers and their lyrics and their emphasis on materialism and sexism. this is coming from a young Black london resident.

Until 2003 when Soulja Boy got the industry to drop core and chase Vanilla Ice's pot of gold. Since then there has been no real rappers, just guys screaming about lemonade with some 4 second looped beat when back n the day they were longer, more original, and a lot used real instruments. 95% of rap is casual now. It's not even rap, it's the rap we made fun of guys for doing from the 50's to 2003, where somehow vanilla ice brand of music is popular to the point none of his songs have any dislikes on youtube. Sad world we live in.
