Avenged Sevenfold (mostly Waking The Fallen, but also a bunch of songs from other albums)codymcclain14

^So far I think these are the ones that I listen to sometimes, even if it's not lately.

I like the sound of most types of music. Maybe not the ~90's styIe 'poppy'-R&B (that might not be the best way of putting it; Cee Lo Green would probably be R&B, but he has some nice sounds).
Don't have a huge amount of music though, so it doesn't go across a lot of genres.

Here's a few so that people can keep comparing! :
- Alkaline Trio
- blink-182 / Angels & Airwaves / Box Car Racer / +44
- Circa Survive
- Coheed and Cambria / The Prize Fighter Inferno
- Diablo Swing Orchestra
- Eluveitie
- Fang Island
- Flogging Molly
- Insomnium
- Stolen Babies

I think you could like Eluveitie, at least their non-acoustic stuff, as long as you like some folky/celtic-y music.
I guess they're technically death metal, but Chrigel's vocals aren't too far from some metalcore stuff. Lower, but not completely deep growling.

I'd also recommend The Song of Life and The Arcane Dominion. And this is just plain awesome.

I'm too lazy to list them all. I like Mumford and Son's, The Kills, Gorillaz, Jelly Roll Morton, Frank Sinatra, and many more.

Two very good songs there :)

I'd also recommend The Song of Life and The Arcane Dominion. And this is just plain awesome.

Celldrax

I still need to get their album "Spirit". I've got the rest!
For those examples I just chose two songs I thought were pretty solid. Thousandfold in part because it seems to have more focus on the non-folky instruments and the vocals (to try and give a sense of the more "metal" part for him. Something like that!), and Inis Mona is usually a good one for an example because it's instruments are so catchy :p

Indeed. I always get chills when listening to Inis Mona at full volume. And I just chose those songs cause I think they're awesome :P

And I would also have to say that Spirit is a possible contender for my favourite Eluveitie album. I think it has one of the best combinations of both the metal and folk elements. It sort of has a similar feel to the first album, but with overall improved quality of Slania.

Clotted Symetric Sexual Organ

Poppy Seed Grinder

Broken Hope

Haemorrhage

Impaled

Ghoul

and on and on...

Some from the not so heavy side:

The Bad Plus

The Animals

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Roky Erickson

and on and on...

My favorite genres include stoner rock/metal, death metal, deathcore, indie rock, folk country, rap, certain R&B thats perfect love-making music, etc. I avoid black metal and songs about people ****ing at the club unless its being ironic...

My favorite bands/artists include:

A Day to Remember

Porcupine Tree

High on Fire

The Faceless

Gorillaz

Florence + The Machine

Iron & Wine

Beck

Death Cab For Cutie

Between the Buried and Me

Kanye West

Adele

Sneaker Pimps

Massive Attack

And a lot more I don't feel like mentioning

I liked that song too.

I always hear good things about the band Death, but never got into them! I should give them a try.

Ever listen to any goregrind? I think you might like the Czech band Pigsty, lots of great bands from the Czech Republic.
