anyway... do you think there is, or do you not? and why?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
is there a god?Stumpt25Of course not. It's only people who have been indoctrinated from childhood to think that there's a god that believes this. Also people who can't imagine an answer for their questions about life seems to just take the easy way and say that god made this and that and so forth...

[QUOTE="-GunGrave-"]I dont think so i am not saying that there is no god i just dont care living my life and if u read the bible u can see that there is a god but where is he now ??? where is that messiah now Stumpt25

The national motto was changed from E Purbius Unum in 1954 along with the Pledge of Allegiance, during the Christian revival. They are both unconstitutional as they both fail the Lemon Test, and are thereby a violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America and, as ruled by a 9th Circuit Court San Franciscan judge in 2002, are not representative of the people and make nonbelievers feel alienated. The senate and President Bush were outraged and quickly overruled his ruling. Think about it. We could have said "In Freedom We Trust" and "One Nation Under Freedom" (or liberty for either) and have been equally representative. I make it my life's work to stop this ****.Of course there is, the is 1 God. And he see's everything, didnt any1 see the dollar saying that we believe in god?

[QUOTE="r3351925"]God can mean anything from Ra to Allah. In the national motto and the pledge of allegiance it is "God," not "god." That clearly indicates the Christian god and not any other one. Why them would George H. W. Bush say that atheists 'are not Americans'? If they had said "god," much fewer would argue about it.Of course there is, the is 1 God. And he see's everything, didnt any1 see the dollar saying that we believe in god?

[QUOTE="CptJSparrow"] In the national motto and the pledge of allegiance it is "God," not "god." That clearly indicates the Christian god and not any other one.Hewkiiisn't his name Jehova? Do Christians pray to their god as Jehovah or as God? I do not recall them ever using that term, though they occasionally use Yahweh. I'll continue this in the evening.
if there is no god there is no afterlife, if there is no afterlife then there is no point of living and in the end dying.
IN the end there is 1 god, and no1 shal defy that. maybe relegions differ like, christians say that jesus is the son of god? Muslims say that there is only 1 god and mohammad is the last prophets?, jews r the oldest people who know that god is there and yet they defy what their original holy books tells them? . every1 in the end is going either to heaven or hell, based on god's justice.
example: in all religions sex before marriage is not allowed, yet most christians, muslims, and jews do so? why?
if there is no god there is no afterlife, if there is no afterlife then there is no point of living and in the end dying.

How about to just have a successful, enjoyable life that you and your loved ones can be proud of during the precious time we exist? That's the way I see it, purpose is what you want it to be, if you need to believe in an afterlife to give life purpose, fine. I just believe life has enough purpose as it is, without believing an afterlife, purpose is just what you make of it.
One day the earth will cease to exist and most likely all records that manking ever existed, does that mean everyone should just commit suicide now? No, don't be silly.
As for the rest and this topic in general; oh lawld
Why is that in 90% of the time I talk to or read an atheists' comments, I always conclude that they are extremely ignorant and self centered? I'm not against you questioning the existance of God, it's your own freedom to find God yourself, but what I am against is the fact that atheists are also very ignorant. Wheter it be because you have met Christians who are like that, or because your just a rebellious, and hormonal teenager who thinks they can change the world, I can only assume. Saying that God does not exist (which is false, God does exist) and then providing no proof, or at least intelligible reasoning for your opinion, does not mean make your word law, and in fact, most of us sensible people would agree it makes you look stupid, in which case it does. PuiumamiYou realize you flatly contradicted yourself? I respect your beliefs and all, but you need to understand that not believing in a god is just as valid as faith in a god. Most people are just stating their opinion (and what the hell else would they be expressing?). You are stating your view on the issue as fact so by your standards they should be fine doing exactly what you are indicting them on.
The point of life is usually whatever you make it out to be. I've decided (mostly because the Dhalai Lama proposed this) that the objective of life is to be happy, essentially, and to make everyone else and everything else happy. Which is pretty rad if you ask me. You do it for the experience and because nothing would exist if we weren't here to observe it.if there is no god there is no afterlife, if there is no afterlife then there is no point of living and in the end dying.
