That fight! It was a pretty intense finale. If only Oberyn was quick about it instead of waiting for a confession from the Mountain. Well he got the confession in the end...

They could if they actually cast decent actors for the other characters and gave them well written scenes with character development. That ship has sailed though.

Is anyone else a little annoyed by the whole Grey Worm-Missandei thing? This was not even in the books and it's taking valuable screen time from other characters - I'd prefer more Jon Snow than that...

I do agree, it was dumb. So was everything besides Sansa/Baelish and the ending. But that's expected when the show is essentially a bunch of vignettes; they're not all going to be quality all the time.

Because it's a garbage scene and steals screen time. If they're going to have the story and main characters be fleshed out at all, they need to freaking stay focused.

I knew that was going to happen, but that didn't make it any easier. Just the way Oberyn went out was gruesome and gut wrenching. Much worse than the Red Wedding. Hell, even worse than Ned Stark. Just typing this and thinking about it has put this cloud of melancholy and sadness over me once again.

You had one job Oberyn, one job!

My eyes popped out when I saw the end of the fight.

I like the Grey Worm/Missandei relationship.... Also, interested in where we go from here with Sansa. Every other character has enough material left in the books for the fifth season, except for her.

Chances for the two remaining books to actually be released before the TV show is over are rather slim. In fact, at this point, I'd say it's impossible. Being a book purist will only lead to many disappointments, because it's way more likely that the show is going to tell us how the story ends and then, if Mr. Martin doesn't eat himself to the grave in the near future, we might get the next two books, which, with their own flavours, touches and slight changes, will actually have to follow the TV show.

From what I have heard, GRRM already told the creators of the TV series how he wants it to end. So either way, we will be getting a conclusion to the story that GRRM approved of so it doesn't bother me if the show begins to pass the books, especially considering how involved GRRM often is.

The show hasn't followed the books since the first season. I've grown custom to the fact and it makes sense. It actually equates to more surprises and mind-fucks. There is not enough screen time to match the books completely anyway.

That Mountain/Oberyn fight left me feeling empty. I knew it was coming but in the books it was a little more drawn out and he was even more arrogant about it. The spear-play was really good imo. The hound's face when he hears Lysa is dead. Lol.

I don't have any sources but I'm fairly certain they have entertained the idea of making a prequel series as well loosely based off some of Martin's early novellas that entail the ASOIAF lore.

Well for those who have not read the books.....we get to enjoy the show, then we can enjoy the books later. Best of both worlds. Sucks to be you.

If I hadn't read the books I wouldn't even bother watching the show. I tune in out of pure curiousity about how it's being adapted. Nearly everything I liked about the books is completely missing in the show.

And to be honest, I'd rather the series was unfinished than have someone like the HBO dudes give the books a half assed ending. With all due respect, the TV series is half assed enough.

I'm curious as to what was up with sansa in that final scene of hers, it seemed like for the first time in a long time she had a plan. I also wonder if Arya and the hound even bothered to go up to the castle after learning of Lisa's death.

Littlefinger is basically going to become her mentor. She'll probably become an intricate webweaver, just like him. Her coming down the stairs dressed like that pretty much shows how much she's matured.

Will Littlefinger mentor her in dark magic as well?

That said, I'm all for sexy goth Sansa, it might be the one good change the TV show has made.

Wow Oberyn had it in the bag, he was too cocky. Brutal way to go out, I liked that. I heard he just got punched in the book.

Sansa...............finally. The most boring character now possibly one of the most interesting especially being with Baelish. She looks sexy now too.

I don't know if Arya will get to meet her sister. But we'll see.

Tyrion........just too good to be killed off.

I am expecting to see Tyrion die before the end of the season... making Oberyn's arrogance even more terrible. Still can't accept it....
