Remember me? The one that made the other thread about Emo and scene? Well, I'm making another one. Considering that ever since I made that old stupid one, there has still been hate for Emo & Scene. I didn't get the point across on my other thread, considering I was unintelligent. Anyway...

READ THE WHOLE THING BEFORE RESPONDING PLEASE

The hate for 'emo people' on these forums has gone on long enough. I'm sick of it. There are jokes towards scene kids. There is blind hate for them. Most people don't even know what scene is! That's so pathetic. People are making fun of 'emos' then once someone brings up the word 'scene', they say "What the heck is scene?". It's pathetic.

Most people hate scenesters because of their hairst-yle When they see someone with a hairsty-le that is even remotely similar to a 'hair over eye' st-yle they automatically hate that person.

Scene haircutScene hairScene boyBeautiful

==========================================================================================

~Beautiful~

==========================================================================================

This does not mean that they cut themselves. This does not mean that they slide a sharp object down on their skin. This does not mean they are homosexual. This does not mean they cry and complain about life all the time. This does not mean they have an 'aura' that makes them a drag to be around with. It simply means that they like that hair st-yle, NOTHING ELSE. Everyone has a different idea of what they find to be 'cool'. You may find that a Crew cut, Dreadlocks, Mohawk, Mullet, Bobcut, Buzz cut, and such are 'cool' hairst-yles. While others may find that Dreadlocks are the most annoying hairst-yle on the planet. Don't be ignorant. Not everyone likes the same hairst-yle You just can't make everyone have a Crew cut and expect this world to be happy. Not everyone looks good with a crew cut or a Mohawk.

Or maybe they hate their clothing.

Beautiful scene dudeCute scene girl

==========================================================================================

~Pretty~

=========================================================================================

This does not mean they self harm. This does not mean they are depressed. This does not mean that they're trying to cover up their scars just because they have jeans on. It's simply because they like the clothing st-yle! NOTHING ELSE!!

If this is how it is, we should just assume that every person that has jeans on are self-injurers. That they're trying to cover up their scars. It doesn't mean they even have scars in the first place. See how stupid it is?

Or maybe It's because of their music tastes?

Fall out boyz xoxo

=========================================================================================

~Fall out boy~

=========================================================================================

First of all, FALL OUT BOY IS NOT EMO!! Not even close. Emo is a music genre, not a particular band. Here's a wikipedia quote for you people:

--------------------------------------------

Emo is a st-yle of rock music which describes several independent variations of music with common stylistic roots. As such, use of the term has been the subject of much debate. In the mid-1980s, the term emo described a subgenre of hardcore punk which originated in the Washington, D.C. music scene. In later years, the term emocore, short for "emotive hardcore", was also used to describe the emotional performances of bands in the Washington, D.C. scene and some of the offshoot regional scenes such as Rites of Spring, Embrace, One Last Wish, Beefeater, Gray Matter, Fire Party, and later, Moss Icon. (In more recent years, the term "emotive hardcore" entered the lexicon to describe the period.

--------------------------------------------

Emo is a genre of music. A person cannot be emo. It's called scene. Not emo. You can't say "That dude looks emo."
How can a person look like a genre of music?

And why do you even care what their music tastes are? Why must everyone like the same type of music as you do? Everyone has a different idea of what they perceive to sound 'good', just because you hate Rites of spring & Sunny day real estate doesn't mean everyone else has to. It's pathetic that people even think like this.

Or maybe It's the fact that they cut themselves?

Scars are real

=========================================================================================

~I would post some real CUTS, but I'd probably get banned from Gamespot if I did that~

=========================================================================================

This does not mean anything at all. This doesn't mean they are 'stupid' or that they have limited intelligence. This just means that they cope with their emotional pain in different manners than most people do. Some people play guitar, go for a walk, running, alcohol, smoking, sex, computer, sleep, music, fighting, playing video games, talking with a friend, eating, watching a movie, looking at pictures of kitty cats, playing with your dog, singing along to your favorite songs, jumping up and down, cooking foods, screaming, ect... These are all methods to cope with your emotional pain. For others, they use self-injury to do so.

Self injury... Punching one's self, biting, scratching, slamming one's body against something, self mutilation, holding an ice cube in hand, hair pulling, burning, punching a hard wall, banging skull against concrete, stabbing with sharp objects, suffocation, self-starvation... These are all methods that self injurers tend to use. One of the methods that's gaining the most attention is self mutilation. The act of using a sharp object and cutting one's self with it. A lot of people do it to the point where just the skin breaks, but they don't bleed. Others go deeper... And others go even deeper... It really all depends. They turn their hate against themselves, so they cut their own skin. The arms, wrists, forearm, legs, neck, forehead, ankles, foot, hands, fingers, toes, knees, back, stomach, thighs, shoulders, ect...

Cutting releases endorphins into the brain that make the body feel good. It gives some a feeling of 'control' or feeling 'alive'. They turn their angry and hatred towards themselves, thus cutting. Or punching ones self. Or whatever...

JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE IS A SELF-INJURER DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY ARE SUICIDAL.
It simply means that they cope with their pain in different manners than most. Everyone handles their emotional pain in different manners, like I said before. It does not mean they are retarded, or that they are weak.

There are many reasons why they self injur themselves. A loss of a family member, loss of a beloved pet, broken heart, a previous argument with someone you love, someone you love saying harsh things towards you, listening to music that relates to them, ect... It doesn't matter. Not everyone has the same threshold of pain as you do. You may be able to handle getting told you're "retarded", but others may not.

It does NOT MEAN THAT THEY ARE ATTENTION SEEKERS! How is it attention seeking? I have scars on my body, but I hide them, like most self injurers. They are afraid to tell someone their big secret, what they've been doing to themselves. They just can't do it, so they hide their cuts and scars. Most people wouldn't understand. Most people would scream at them and tell them to go away. They are afraid of losing their friends, their family. They are afraid of this, because if that happens, It's the end. If you don't have family... If you don't have friends, or love... It's over. You'll go insane if you don't have these things. Trust me, I know.

These people need help. They are sad. Depressed. Lonely... We're all human. We all have feelings, and not everyone has the same threshold of pain than you do. Just because you can survive living on the streets, doesn't mean everyone else can. Most people would probably kill themselves if they lost all their money, job and home. All of it... Gone. It would drive them insane. Most people don't understand this. Not everyone is strong. Not everyone is a superhero. We all can't deal with these type of things as easily as some people can, so quit bragging, quit being stupid and open your eyes.

You should walk up to that girl that sits in the corner of your cla-ss. Always alone... No friends to talk to. People are making fun of her. You should walk up to her, sit down and have a nice chat. Try to be her friend... Do it. You will NOT regret it. I promise you that. You'll have a smart and intelligent friend that knows how valuable friendship is. How it feels to be alone, hurt and cold. You'll have someone to talk to when you're feeling down, and they will understand. They will.
If you don't do that... And the next day you hear that she killed herself... Would you regret not just talking with her? Just for a little while? It would give her something to look forward to the next day -- Someone to talk to. Maybe a friend. They're dieing from the inside, and they need some help. But no one realizes that. They just heckle them. I mean it, you should talk with them. They're suffering, and they don't have anyone to talk with. That makes it worse. Plus the taunting and badgering by the other kids give them more pressure, pressure adds to the pain. They'll explode one day.

Now do you understand? Do you understand that all of this blind hate is stupid? Don't be shallow. This is something that has gone on long enough, I'm sick and tired of all of this blind hate. You say you want all scenesters to die a horrible death? That's stupid that you want every single person that doesn't have the same personality characteristics as you do to die. It's very VERY stupid to say such a thing.

Thanks for reading.

Personally, I have nothing against emos. But I think it's a lot to ask for when you don't want there to be jokes making fun of emos. There are jokes that make fun of everybody. I don't think people should take offense at jokes unless the jokes themselves are intentionally meant to insult someone.

That said, I like some of the hairstyles some emos wear and I can't say emos are horrible people but there are certain things they do that I don't like. But it's their life. I might disagree with how they cope with emotions but I'm not going to hate them because of it.

The word scenesters is funny. Where's the need for such a silly label? Can't people just be themselves?

I'm not really a fan of the hair or clothing styles but I really don't care what other people like. People really need to find a better emotional release than self mutilation though.

Some people are naturally going to dislike what they consider to not be of the norm...nothing you can do to change that. I myself don't have my hair like that, dress that way, listen to that music, and what not, however I will admit that the hair looks pretty kickass if done correctly.

I don't really care if they're emo or scene or whatever (didn't hear about this 'scene' thing before), but that hair-style and those clothes in your images look stupid in my opinion.

And cutting yourself is either a sign that you're stupid or that you have mental issues. Or both.

Edit: To clarify, I don't hate those people. I can't really, since I still don't understand what an emo person is, not to mention a scene-person.

I applaud your effort.

Unfortunately, not everyone who looks the way you described is doing it for the right reasons. People can dress however they want. They can cut there hair however they want. But don't tell me that they are doing it out of self-expression. They want to look different. Why would someone style their hair in such a drastically different way from 'normal' convention? So people look at them. I couldn't tell you why they want people to notice them for being different.

I don't hate these people. I am ambivalent towards 98% of the population. I just wish I could be around when they wake up one day and realize that they are adults and being an adult, you needto become a functioning member of society. You needto follow social conventions.Do you see people dressing like hippies nowadays? Do you see people wearing bellbottoms and frilly dress shirts? This style is a fad, just like all the other clothing fads over history.

Basically, you can do whatever you want...I don't care, to be quite honest. Just realize that people won't take you seriously if you look like anyone in the photos you provided. I know that is brutally honest, but it is the truth.

I don't care. it's lame that someone needs to fit a group though. You don't see me trying to join a Miami Vice 80s style fad group because I enjoy Crocketts season 1 and 2 clothing a lot as well as 80s music like New Wave and Synth pop. I also don't try to join a Wiseguy fad group(like gangsta) because Goodfellas and Casino had some of the awesomest clothing evar(As well as the actual criminals in photos)! I also don't join a hippie group because I'm a Bi vegan pro freelove-polyamory and not so big on nationalism and non diplomatic interventions. I also don't join a disco fad group because I like the clothing style and the music. I also don't join a stoner clique because I don't like the war on drugs. Instead of mixing 8 or so things in a group, why not just be those 8 or so things? Let's see: Depressed, self mutilater, wears scene style clothes, listens to emo music, is Bisexual(I heard this about emos...) and other stuff... That's 5 things, can't they be five seperate things? I am pro-choice, pro-gay people, pro-diplomacy, pro-cival rights, etc. I still don't call myself liberal. I also hate taxes, anti-gun laws, etc. That doesn't make me identify as a conservative. You can be as depressed, as bisexual, as into weird clothes, as into certain music as you want, but you're not EMO because of it. There's much more to you than that, you also have other favorite music, favorite TV shows, favorite video games, economic and social ideas, etc. Anyone who thinks emotional state, clothing and music style, as well interest in poetry and other crap defines you, you're wrong. It's funny that kids think what they like makes them who they are. Ghandi is famous because of all that stuff he did and preached. Not because he thought Frank Sinatra was leik super kewl and so were wool suits(I made those two up... And yes, he was a Vegan, so he'd be against wool suits...)!

everytime I see emos, I think of the emo song. :|

namely this part "I'm an Emo Kid, non-comforming as can be. You can be non-conforming too if you look just like me."

though I don't really care about them, they can dress how they want.

I actually have a fetish for Scene girls. :)

I don't know why, but something about them really attracts me. :D

And while i love that kind of looks and attitude on girls, for guys, I hate it, and i've gotten into a few fights with scene guys who think i'm "stealing" their women. =\

Okay Ill start off by saying that I did not read your post. It is extremly to long and I dont feel like it. Now I will say that I too hate all the hatred towards emo/scene kids nor do I like to label ppl but I will say this.....I think emo boys are hawt.rosesforever89

Meh, not that long. It was long before, but I deleted some parts that weren't really necessary since it was ultra-long.

And yes, I agree, scene guys are hot ;P

You have far too much time on your hands!MonkeyMonger_UK

Not really. I'm just sick of all of these people that hate others that don't have the same personality characteristics as they do. It's so pathetic.

The way they act like when they cut themselves and have all these negative view points on life (I cant stand it).

It's not that at all. It's the way many people force these characteristics.

Maybe it was weird in 1986, but it's not weird now. It's just a normal group thing, it's not unique at all.

Pretty much, if they want to be weird they should PURPOSELY get herpes and develop a turtle fetish, that's dare I say.... Weird.
