This album a classic

When you say rap classics I think of these:

Outkast-ATLiens
Kast-Aquemini
Bone Thugs-E1999 Eternal
UGK-Ridin Dirty
Nas-Illmatic
Dre-Chronic
8Ball & MJG-On top of the world...

All those albums are actual classics and sh*t all over this album. I could name a ton more a lot better than this. The 50 album had good beats, but is no way a classic haha GTFO with that.

36Ounces

Nice to see an Aquemini shout out. It's either my second or third favorite album.

[QUOTE="Bucked20"] You probably heard 2 50 cent songs and got your opinion from that, typical feminem fan GreySeal9

I'm not a big Em fan but Em >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 50. Em destroys 50 lyrically, creatively and almost every other way.

This statement only makes sense if you are talking about Eminem in his prime.

Also, I prefer 50 Cent's voice even if Eminem is a technically more impressive MC. Or was. His lyrics suck now.

It's just a fact that Em lyrically sh*ts on 50. If you listen to both it's not hard to see.

No, it's your opinion.

And I all ready said that Em is a better MC and he was certainly a better lyricist in his prime. But Eminem's lyrics are absolute garbage these days.Look at those lyrics that I quoted earlier. They are abysmal.

Did I get sucked into some sort of alternate dimension or something?

Aren't Eminem and 50 business partners (they record for the same company or something like that) and good friends. In one of their songs 50 says that Em is his "favorite whiteboy".

Yep, anyone heard anything new from 50?

He had that song with Jeremy in 2011. I think he had some other song (or was at least featured in it), a few months after that, where he had a line that mentioned HBK (but I've heard he wasn't talking about Shawn Michaels, which disappointed me).

The song you linked is horrid. That nasty sounding pop jook is just awful. This 50 cent song is much better.

The singles were the only listenable bits of Recovery. The rest of it is badly produced and forgettable with some really embarrasing lyricism on some of the tracks. Can't believe he actually sampled Haddaway.

GreySeal9

Oh sweet, generic rap with crappy lyrics! That song sucks and so does 50 Cent.

The singles were way overplayed and some of the weaker tracks on the album.

No Love was a phenominal track BTW.

Anybody who sings the praises of Recovery shouldn't be talking about generic rap. The beats on Recovery are the definition of generic. They don't make an impression at all. They're just there. Eminem's voice drowns out all the drab production.

The singles were not the weaker tracks. The first two singles were the only tracks that made any sort of impression, even if they were a bit too poppy.

I don't know what to tell somebody who thinks that No Love was a phenomenal track. That track was kind of embarrasing IMO.

Also, you shouldn't really be talking about crappy lyrics when Recovery has such lines as:

Hit a blind man with a coloring book and told him color inside the lines or get hit with a flying crayon.Eminem

you couldnt make a belemic puke on a piece of fvcking corn and peanut poop.Eminem

Embarrasing.

Pull at it all stops, any who touch a mic prior'sNot even Austin Powers, how the **** are they Mike MeyersAnd tell that psycho to pass the torchTo the whacko before I take a **** in his Jack-O-LanternAnd smash it on his porch, now get off my dick

You're the Eminem backwards, you're mini-meEminem

That word play. Recovery was great, I admit the beats were not that amazing, but I thought the record as a whole was great.

Damn homie, when I was in high school* 50 used to be the man homie!

*well maybe the early years of high school like freshman year and sophomore year (though maybe the most memorable song that came out when I was a sophomore was not by 50 it was that "everytime we touch I feel the static" song, but I remember him more from when I was in 7th grade.

Anyone else feel music was better before 2007/08?

lol. I remember when Verne peed on the floor on some tv show (was it called "celebrity rehab"?). The Challenger shuttle incident that Em is talking about was in 1986 right? I remember there was some shuttle that crashed/blew up around 2003 or 2004 though.

naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw

Album is greatness, though. I bump it every once in a while.

IDK, the buzz around 50 Cent when he came out was monstrous. Still, Kanye West did beat him in the sales war.

Good album tho. Unfortunately, alot of people are just going to hate solely because it's a rap album.

lol. I saw a rerun of cribs a week or so ago, it was showing 50's crib. 50 has a teddy bear named Kanye, that he showed the crew and then he put it on the ground and kicked it.

Cold Wind Blows and Almost Famous>25 To Life granted 25 To Life is most certainly one of the best tracks on the album.

In terms of past music he had tons of classic tracks back in the day. I had stopped caring for his stuff after The Eminem Show (which was for some time his last good album IMO) but then Recovery came out and despite some weaker tracks the STRONG tracks on that album are some of his best work.

And Bucked, lol at once again trying to act like 50 even comes close to being on Em's level. Em spits circles around 50 man, just get over it. Theres so much rap out there yet you sit there and try to toot the horn of some crap rapper like 50. Tis just sad.

Yeah Bulletproof was reviewed pretty badly from what I remember, but Blood On The Sand is supposed to have Gears Of War tier gunplay and action, with an over the top plot. MrPraline
Sometimes I don't pay much attention to reviews, a lot of the movies I like got bad reviews I think (well Norbit did anyway from what I remember).

[QUOTE="MrPraline"]And to come back on the Eminem thing: he's released some very good material in the past but judging from recent memory, both Relapse and Recovery only had one good track (Underground and 25 To Life respectively, with 25 To Life being the only one I still listen to).LostProphetFLCL

This thread was calling a crap album a classic which is exactly why I stopped in.

Funny thing this is the first time I have heard 50's name come up in close to 10 years. If his album was such a "classic" it's kind of funny that no one ever talks about him these days...

Actually I really just think 50 sucks, but nice try!

I will say that rap is not my genre, but I in general can at least respect people who are good at it. 50 is not one of those people...
