It's possible. Maybe the next Zelda or Metroid... I doubt anything from third parties will score a 10.
RE4 is my favourite game ever and it didn't get AAAA here, like the guy above me said enjoy the game not the score.bobbetybob
RE4 was reviewed before Gamespot changed their review system. It would definately have received a 10 with the current system.
[QUOTE="Jakendo"]It has OoT
SirSpudly
That's been on N64, GC, and Wii. So it's not really an exclusive.
Shh, it's AAAAE
[QUOTE="VGobbsesser"]An "AAAAE" game is a game that has scored a ten,and also happens to be exclusive to its console.NirdBerd
Thanks, but does AAAAE really stand for anything... why couldn't the topic just be called, Will the Wii ever have a perfect game? Heheh, nitpicking :P
Well,if you want to get technical,a ten means "prime" now,not "perfect." :wink:
[QUOTE="thisguy51"]Most likely not.NirdBerd
You're probably right..
If I'm not mistaken, OoT is sadly the only Nintendo game that's perfect. Why OoT in particular. It's revolutionary, but not the best.
Even then, it's for pure nostalgia factor, just like how FF7 was critically acclaimed as the best FF. Majora's Mask was a superior game to OOT, but nobody cares because "LOL, OOT's AWESOME, NUUB."

I never thought OoT was as good as every other person seemed to. I thought it was a little overrated.Don't know don't care, SMG is still the number 2 ranked game on Game Rankings, it beat both of the games GS gave AAAA too, RE4 is my favourite game ever and it didn't get AAAA here, like the guy above me said enjoy the game not the score.bobbetybobIt's #3 now. GTAIV for the PS3 is at #2.

Thanks for coming out, try again another time
There's an AAAAE now? Wow... That doesn't even make sense to me.
In more practical terms, yes, the Wii probably will have an awesome game at some point. It already has a few. Does all that other stuff really matter?
Probably not. Gamepsot hates the Wii, you know.Thiago26792
I agree that they hate the wii.... or used too. lately they have been better, but their metroid prime 3 score is still fishy. It was like they where trying to save face by not rating great games above a 8.5.... oh well.
On topic, I think that there will be many many AAAE's to come, but I don't see any AAAAE's in the for a long time.
WHatt doesnt make sense?epic_pets
The idea of AAAAE. Last I knew, AAA was the highest "ranking" for anything. I still think A+ would be sufficient. Apparently we just keep going up and up. It makes these rankings meaningless. Just say "this game is awesome." We don't need to be delineating how awesome a game is. What's the point?
It could happen. It probably won't. I could care less if it did.Lunar52How much less could you care?
What should we care more: the gameplay and fun factor, or the fact that a game received a "perfect" score? Personally, I am indifferent to the recent games that GameSpot gave a "perfect" score because they do not appeal to my gaming tastes.

Bingo!
It's like saying a movie wasn't any good because it didn't win Best Picture at the Oscars .... what reviewers say and what reality is are often pretty far apart. I've listened to music a heck of a long time, yet rarely consider the Grammy winning best album my favorite of the year, and in many cases don't even want to own it.
IME, like in movies/music/art/etc .... reviewers often live in their own little world and really don't get what the general public feels about most things. Just because they post on a website doesn't mean they have any clue at all ... and without a long history of reviews, it's hard to tell if any of the reviewers really have any great insight or not.
For the most part, I skip the `industry insider' reviews as there's far more reasons to question them than to believe. Or so my take is ... for the most part I ignore the numerical rankings. [Most US reviewers of Wii PES 08 are obviously clueless on soccer, so how do they review gameplay when they don't understand the nuance of the game? They review it poorly, IMO]
