While Wii Sports showed you motions that are normally thought of as common practice, Wii Play offers up using the Wiimote in new ways.
Wii Play isn't a bad game, the problem comes from people not understanding what it's meant to be.
Wii Sports wasn't a free game, it was included with the Wii console for a slightly higher price (it goes for a little over 40 dollars US in places that didn't get it included) so the idea that these two games should be compared is nonsense. Apples and oranges. If you understand what Wii Play is and what it accomplishes it's not a bad game by any measure.

i agee 100%. i noted in a previous Topic that people expected it to be an epic game, like Zelda. but it really just helps people get used to the Wii-mote, and its many different controls you can use. just like Wii Sports.

Right on!!!!! I hate it when peeps keep trashing it because they think it sux. I got it 4 the extra controller, but i would pay $10 each 4 Tanks or Billiards. 4 $10 extra, it's DEFINITELY worth it.
I tried Wii Play at GameXCrazy last night, and imo, I would rather spend 10 dollars worth of quarters on the light gun game Point Blank if arcades still exist.
